Hogwarts Legacy – How to Get the Golden Snitch

Though Quidditch isn’t in Hogwarts Legacy, to the dismay of many a fan of the fast-paced wizarding sport, the infamous Golden Snitch does pop up during The Room of Requirements quest early on in the game. Its appearance and an in-game prompt to chase the Golden Snitch suggest some way to catch it, but it’s unclear how exactly to do that.

In this guide, we’ll explore whether you can catch the Golden Snitch in Hogwarts Legacy.

Can You Catch the Golden Snitch in Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, there’s no way to catch the Golden Snitch in Hogwarts Legacy. Its only purpose during The Room of Requirements quest is to guide you to a chest hidden in the room. The snitch will dart past your character prompting a chase through the clutter of the Room of Requirements, leading you to a rather talkative painting, taunting you to follow the snitch.

Ahead of you is a crate. Use the Accio spell to pull it towards you to free up a crawl space. Head through, then look left. Spot another crate in the space barred by clutter and use Accio again to pull it towards you.

Head back to where you were previously through the crawl space and look in the gap on the left. Ahead is a Hogwarts Legacy chest sitting on top of a crate and the Golden Snitch jittering about above. From here, you can use Accio to pull the crate towards you. Pull it as close as possible, and you’ll be able to loot the chest.

Beyond that, the Golden Snitch has no in-game purpose, serving only as a nod to the source material and maybe (this is pure conjecture at this point) the prospect of Hogwarts Legacy DLC somewhere down the line introducing Quidditch to the game.
