Fluxweed Stem is an ingredient in Hogwarts Legacy used to brew potions such as the Focus Potion and Felix Felicis. During Professor Garlick’s Assignment 2 quest, you’re tasked with growing and harvesting Fluxweed Stem, but the game doesn’t lay out the steps all that clearly.
Unlike ingredients like Lacewing Flies, Fluxweed Stem isn’t found growing in the wild out and about in The Highlands around Hogwarts. You’ll need to either buy or grow Fluxweed yourself.

How to Grow Fluxweed Stem
You can buy Fluxweed seeds from The Magic Neep in Hosgmeade. The vendor is located across the river from J. Pippin’s Potions. Fast travel to the West Hogsmeade Floo Flame and head across the stone bridge to reach the shop.
At The Magic Neep, Timothy Teasdale sells Fluxweed seeds for 300 Galleons. As with other seeds in Hogwarts Legacy, you only need to buy the seeds once – you’ll have an infinite supply thereon.
Fluxweed Stem must be grown in large pots, so the small pot in the Herbology classroom won’t do here. You’ll need to conjure up a Potting Table with a Large Pot spellcraft in the Room of Requirements (unlocked after completing the Jackdaw’s Rest main story quest).

Once you’ve set up the Potting Table with a Large Pot, interact with it, and select Fluxweed from the seed options. Doing so kick-starts the growing process. Fluxweed seeds take 15 minutes to grow into a full Fluxweed Stem, and you’ll get a yield of 5 stems from each harvest.
Where to Buy Fluxweed Stem in Hogwarts Legacy
Fluxweed Stem is available for purchase at The Magic Neep in Hogsmeaded. A single Fluxweed Stem will set you back 150 Galleons.
You can buy two at any one time, with the stock replenishing after every night and day cycle, as far as we can tell. It’s not the most efficient nor economical way to get Fluxweed Stem, but it works as a solid stopgap if you need to brew a batch of Focus Potions or Felix Felicis quickly.
