Bile Spewers are some of the first Terminid faction enemies you’ll come up against in Arrowhead Game Studios’ popular third-person shooter, Helldivers 2, but that by no means makes them a weak enemy. With strong armour and their eponymous bile, they can be a challenge if you aren’t prepared. That’s why we’re here to help you find and kill them with ease.

Where to find Bile Spewers in Helldivers 2

Bile Spewers can be found on Terminid-occupied planets in the eastern areas of the galaxy. As an armoured enemy, you won’t find Bile Spewers below Medium difficulty, so make sure you have your settings at the right level. You’ll also need to be at least Level 5 before you can start encountering them. If you’re specifically looking for them, your best bets are to check out planets that have any “Exterminate Bugs” missions on these planets and jump in to try and find them.

Because of the difficulty requirement, it can be quite hard to kill Bile Spewers as a solo player or in a smaller group. They are armoured but do have a weak spot, in the form of the large green, glowing areas on their abdomen.

Because they aren’t the fastest enemies, you should be able to strafe around them, reaching the weak spot on their backs, where you’ll want to use a fast-firing, high-damage weapon to deal as much damage as possible. Avoiding the front also means you’ll avoid their bile spit attack, which can deal high damage if you aren’t careful. Otherwise, you can use a high-powered precision weapon to shoot their tiny head. However, that’s risky due to the size of the target, as well as leaving you in range of their ranged attack.

✓ Pro tip

One of our preferred weapons for quickly taking down a Bile Spewer is the Recoilless Rifle. Hit their weak spot with a couple of shots and they won’t know what hit them. The same goes for Orbital Strikes and Eagle stratagems too.

Other tips to kill them:

  • Stay away after dealing the final blow: If you kill one by hitting its weak spot, be aware that it can potentially explode, dealing plenty of damage to you, so keep a little distance. Additionally, if you’re playing on higher difficulties, they gain an additional attack where they will rain acid from the sky, which can quickly finish you off if you aren’t careful.
  • Use long-range stratagems: One of the safest ways to kill Bile Spewers is to attack them before they even react to your presence. Call down an Orbital or Eagle stratagem on them as soon as you spot them, and you’ll be able to deal with them without a scratch.
  • Aim grenades at their back: If you plan to use explosive grenades of any kind against them, your safest bet is to lob them so they hit their glowing abdomen, at their back. This will ensure that you deal as much damage as you can, possibly even one-shotting them.
  • Anti-armor works: As with most medium and large enemies, using an anti-armor support weapon, like an EAT-17, Recoilless Rifle, or Grenade Launcher, will work against Bile Spewers as well. This can work from any angle, but it’s always best to target the weak spot or the head, just to be safe.

If you’re preparing to take on some Bile Spewers, or any other Terminid threats for that matter, make sure you’ve got the best weapons, best armor, as well as best boosters to meet the threat.
