The game’s fanbase is so loyal, in fact, that many players are more than willing to buy the game’s in-game currency, V-Bucks. However, it is very unclear to many whether players are able to gift V-Bucks to their friends in Fortnite.
Can you gift V-Bucks directly?
The short answer to this question is no, you cannot officially gift V-Bucks in Fortnite. Epic Games has not allowed this feature, as it could well lead to unauthorized reselling sites. However, there are ways to indirectly gift V-Bucks to your friends in Fortnite.
Other ways to gift V-Bucks in Fortnite
Here are a few ways that you can indirectly gift V-Bucks to your friends:
- Purchase an Epic Games gift card: If you purchase an Epic games gift card, you’ll be able to gift it to your friend, who can then redeem it for V-Bucks. It’s exactly like gifting V-Bucks, only with a few extra steps!
- Purchase an E-Gift Card: You could also consider sending your friend an E-Gift Card, which can be purchased online.
- Gift an Item from the Fortnite Shop: Whilst you cannot gift V-Bucks directly, you can send your friends items from the shop. So, if you’re looking to gift something to your friend, just ask them what they’d like, then buy away! This is probably the closest thing we have to gift V-Bucks in Fortnite currently.
- Cold Hard Cash: Perhaps the easiest way to give your friends some V-Bucks is by giving them some cash. They can then convert this currency into V-Bucks to use on their Fortnite account. Sure, it’s boring, but it works.
How to earn V-Bucks in Fortnite
In Battle Royale, you can get V-Bucks either by purchasing them directly in-game or by earning them through the Free Pass and/or Battle Pass. Each season, all players are given access to the same Free Pass and an option to purchase the more extensive Battle Pass. Both of these passes allow you to earn V-Bucks as you progress through levels of the Battle Pass!
What are V-Bucks in Fortnite?
V-Bucks are Fortnite’s in-game currency. They can be purchased in the Fortnite store in exchange for cash. V-Bucks can then be used to purchase skins, cosmetics, and various other items to help you create the Fortnite fighter of your dreams. It’s unlikely that V-Bucks will ever become transferrable in Fortnite, as this could create massive headaches for Epic Games. So you’ll, unfortunately, have to resort to the old-fashioned gift cards.
