Dredge The Pale Reach Ice Axe locations

The Dredge The Pale Reach Ice Axe locations are spread pretty evenly throughout the ice fields that make up the archipelago. You’ll want to track them down to free the sailors trapped inside the ice shards and progress the Under the Ice Pursuit. There are four Ice Axe locations in Dredge The Pale Reach.

Ice Axe Locations

Before you start hunting down the Ice Axe locations, you’ll need to complete the Icebreaker Pursuit to be able to break through ice chunks. Equip it at the travelling merchant at the Bleak Pontoon.

Each Ice Axe allows you to to free one of the crew trapped in the ice shards around the Pale Reach, specifically at the Central Camp, Southern Locus, Western Bearing, and Eastern Terminus. Remember to pick up the Frozen Heart after breaking each ice shard.

Ice Axe 1

• The Ice Axe is in a dredge spot east of the Central Camp in the southwestern corner of J-4. Break through the ice chunks then dredge the spot.

Ice Axe 2

• The Ice Axe is in a dredge spot in the south of The Pale Reach in G-7, just north of the Southern Locus dock next to the frozen Narwhal ice shard. To reach the Southern Locus, break through the ice blocking the channel to the south of the Central Camp.

Ice Axe 3

• The Ice Axe is in a dredge spot in the west of The Pale Reach in F-5, in a channel south of the Western Bearing. Break the ice in the channel heading towards the open sea and you’ll see the spot straight ahead.

Ice Axe 4

• The Ice Axe is in a dredge spot in the east of The Pale Reach in the southwestern corner of K-4, north of the Eastern Terminus dock. Head north from the terminus, break the ice as you go. The dredge spot is near a crystal-like shard on the ice sheet.

Navigate back to the giant frozen Narwhal next to the Southern Locus in G-7. Dredge the sparkling spot to get the Aurous Anchor, which allows you to set up a two way portal between the Pale Reach and Blackstone Isle.

Look out for shimmering dredge spots

You’ll know when you near the right location when you spot a shimmering/sparkling dredge spot. This indicates a story crucial piece of gear, in this case, the Ice Axes.
