Dragon’s Dogma 2 Shadowed Prayers quest walkthrough – how to find the assassin

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Shadowed Prayers quest is a fairly short one, but can be a little difficult to figure out. With Empress Nadinia under threat of assassination, you’ve been asked by Menella to try and thwart an upcoming attempt. Dragon’s Dogma 2 Shadowed Prayers walkthrough

The quest can be started once you’ve completed the Nation of the Lambent Flame main story quest, meeting Menella upon reaching Bakbatttahl for the first time. Head to the Flamebearer Palace in the morning where she and another NPC called Irmhild tell you to be on the lookout for an assassin who is looking to take the life of Empress Nadinia.

Finding the assassin

You’ll be given a brief description of the would-be perpetrator as a man with his hair tied back and an X-shaped wound on his right arm. Because of the mission’s time limit and what’s at stake, you’ll need to be fairly quick and make sure you get the right person.

Head up the stairs where Empress Nadinia is leading the prayers with a group of people praying behind her on the stairs. Look for a white man next to the right-hand wall around halfway up the stairs. Like the description, he will have his hair tied up, and a scar on his right bicep. Use your lantern if you’re struggling to make it out. We’ve marked him out on the image below to make things easier.

Timed Quest

This is a timed quest, so you want to complete it as soon as possible. You can pause the game to stop time if you don’t want time to pass while you’re reading this guide.

Once you’ve picked him out, walk over to him and press the button to pick him up. You’ll tackle him to the ground and he will immediately give himself up, confessing to the plot. Menella and Irmhild will thank you for your actions, and reward you with a nice 18,000G, five Jasper, and 3,500 XP for your troubles.
