Dragon’s Dogma 2 Prey for the Pack quest walkthrough

To start the quest, you need to head to Checkpoint Rest Town far west of Vernworth on the border between Vermund and Battahl. You can get here easily by hiring an ox cart at the western gate of the city. Once here, head south up the hill until you reach the apothecary, where the owner Morris will tell you about his missing grandson Rodge.

Where is Rodge in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Rodge can be found at the Putrid Cave. But first things first, you need to get this information from the townsfolk. Head for the town entrance and talk to three townspeople: a man named Timothy, a woman named Jacint, and a young girl named Alsa.

They will tell you that Rodge was last seen at the cenotaph in the graveyard on the outskirts of town where he tends to a flowerbed nearby. One of the townsfolk saw him being dragged away from here by wolves. A quest marker will appear at the cenotaph, marking on your map where to head next.

Timed Quests

Prey for the Pack is a timed quest meaning you must complete it as soon as possible. If you take too long, Rodge may be killed by the wolves and you’ll be unable to complete the quest.

Cenotaph and following the petals

Once you get to the cenotaph, you’ll notice that Rodge is nowhere to be found, but you’ll see plenty of the glowing blue flowers that Rodge was here to collect – this is your clue. These are easier to see at night but think twice before resting at a bench or an inn for this as you’re on the clock. Head north of the cenotaph across the wooden bridge.

On this road north of the river, you’ll notice that there are areas where blue petals have been scattered. Follow this road eastwards, making sure to follow the path where the petals are. Keep going until you reach a small path to the south that leads into a forested area and head down here. At night, you may even run into some skeletons on this route.

Rescuing Rodge from the wolves

Follow this forest path all the way to the end, killing any wolves that you come across. At the end of the path, you’ll find a small cave called Putrid Cave. Head inside, and at its deepest point, you’ll find Rodge surrounded by several wolves. These are just normal wolves, so quickly dispatch them and talk to Rodge. If you’re late, all you’ll find is a Scrap of Cloth to return to his grandfather.

Rodge will be a little confused, but glad to be safe. Next, all you have to do is retrace the path back to town with Rodge in tow. Don’t run too far away from him, or he’ll just stand and wait for you to come back. Additionally, if you’re finding him a bit of a nuisance, you can pick him up and carry him for a brief time, but he will break free.

If you get into a fight while escorting Rodge, don’t worry, as he won’t be targeted by enemies. Simply finish off the fight and get back to bringing him home. If night falls, the enemies around may be stronger, so you might want to just pick him up and run back to town, ignoring enemies.

Prey for the Pack rewards

Once you bring Rodge back to his granddad in town, they’ll have a brief conversation. Both will give you their thanks for saving Rodge, and Morris will reward you with 11,000G and 2 Miracle Roborants, an item that heals both Health and Stamina.
