Dungeons are some of the best activities to complete in Diablo 4 for loot, and the Sepulcher of the Forsworn has a great reward at the end. This dungeon can be a bit tricky, especially the boss fight if you don’t know what you’re doing. While not quite as tough as a Capstone Dungeon or the Champion’s Demise Dungeon, it can still be a challenge. We’re here to give you all the details you need to complete this dungeon in the Sepulcher of the Forsworn guide.
Sepulcher of the Forsworn quick walkthrough
- Location: Sepulcher of the Forsworn is in the Altar of Ruin area in Kehjistan.
- Aspect reward: Hulking Aspect (Necromancer): Your Golem has a 1% chance to reduce its active cooldown time by two seconds and a 1% chance to spawn a corpse when it damages an enemy with a normal attack.
- Quests: There are no quests associated with this dungeon.
Here’s a quick checklist of what you have to do to beat the dungeons, before diving into more detail below:
- Collect Animus from the Animus Carriers
- Deposit collected Animus into the Urn
- Find your way to the Theater of Carnage
- Destroy the 2 Demonic Corruptions
- Find your way to the Baal’s Shrine
- Defeat the dungeon boss, Seething Hivemaster
Sepulcher of the Forsworn dungeon guide
The Sepulcher of the Forsworn dungeon can be found in the Altar of Ruin in the Kehjistan region of Sanctuary. It’s at the very top of the Altar of Ruin. However, you’ll only unlock this dungeon after conquering the Altar of Ruin Stronghold. Luckily, once you do complete the stronghold, you’ll unlock a waypoint as well that you can fast-travel to.
Once you’re in the Sepulcher of the Forsworn, you’ll start out in the Gallery of Destruction. You’ll first need to gather Animus from the Animus Carriers found around the dungeon. Luckily, these elite monsters are marked with skulls on your mini-map, so you can find them easily. Once defeated, they’ll drop the purple Animus that you need to gather. Be careful, though, as the Animus Carriers have other Demon and Goatmen enemies that are with them. Also, be sure to collect all of it, as it can be easy to miss some – there’s an exact amount that you’ll need to unlock the next section.
As soon as you have enough Animus, deposit them into the Animus Urn, which will unlock the sealed door. A timer will pop up and you’ll need to defeat the hordes of monsters that come your way until the timer runs out. Continue moving forward until you reach the Theater of Carnage, where you’ll be tasked with destroying two structures. These Demonic Corruption structures are technically elites, and they will shoot out shockwaves in various directions. You can tell by the red light on the ground where it will shoot, but this light is faint, so look carefully for it. Actual elite enemies will spawn after the structures reach a certain HP, so you’ll need to defeat them, too.
After defeating the Demonic Corruptions, head forward to find Baal’s Shrine. Here is where you’ll face off with the boss of the dungeon, the Seething Hivemaster. The most important thing to watch out for with this boss is the projectiles it shoots out in a half circle. I’ve found that circling the boss and staying close to him is the most effective way to take him on. You can dodge the projectiles, and in the second half of the fight, you’ll need to dodge the AoE attacks, as well. Also, make sure to tackle the adds the boss summons into the arena – which is where AoE attacks of your own can be used to great effect. Make sure to keep moving if you want to defeat this boss. Standing still will get you hit. The Seething Hivemaster has a good amount of HP, too, so you’ll need to outlast him.
Once the Seething Hivemaster is defeated, the dungeon is complete. For a reward, you’ll unlock the Legendary Hulking Aspect in your Codex of Power. The Hulking Aspect is only for Necromancers, and it allows your Golem the chance to reduce its cooldown and the chance to spawn a corpse each time it damages an enemy with a normal attack.
You can return to this dungeon and run it again, but you’ll need to know how to reset dungeons in Diablo 4. If not, then don’t waste time and use a quick method to leave the dungeon instead.
