Resetting a dungeon essentially allows you to tackle all of the enemies that lurked within the area again and again, which during our Diablo 4 playthrough, we found to be incredibly helpful if you’re looking to grind out more XP fast and reach the max level as quickly as possible. Dungeons typically act as dangerous enemy strongholds, but defeated enemies reward you with loads of experience, loot, and items to sell for gold. Resetting dungeons lets you farm them all over again, thus exploiting your knowledge of the route to reap the benefits. You are not able to reset campaign dungeons and can only reset normal and nightmare dungeons. Here’s how to do it.

How to reset dungeons in Diablo IV

To reset a dungeon in Diablo 4, you’re going to need to complete it first. Once you’ve completed one, press M on PC to bring up your Diablo 4 world map (or the Touch button on the PS5 controller, and Share button on an Xbox controller). You’ll see a button that says ‘Reset Dungeons’. Click it and all dungeons you’ve visited recently will be reset.

You’ll then be given a warning message that reads: “Are you sure you want to reset all dungeons, including Nightmare Dungeons? Campaign dungeons will not be affected.” If you go ahead and click ‘Accept’, all of the dungeons, bar those as part of the campaign, will be reset. You’re then able to go back into the dungeon and tackle all of the monsters there again. There is no limit to how many times you can reset normal dungeons or the nightmare versions, so you’re able to keep using this method to farm XP, loot and gold. A good method is to find a specific dungeon you like and focus on this one for a while before venturing to a new one.

Why do you want to reset a dungeon?

Dungeons are a great way to earn XP and loot as you face off against monsters and the occasional boss. You can take them solo or form a party with friends via the social menu. Either way, dungeons serve as a loot farm for legendary items with the chance of scoring a unique item. You can leave dungeons via the dungeon entrance or by teleporting out. You can reset Nightmare Dungeons (unlocked by Nightmare Sigils) this way too for the best XP.
