Are you wondering how to reset a dungeon in Diablo 4? Then you’ve come to the right place. Here we’ll take you through everything you need to know about how to do it in Blizzard’s latest entry to the acclaimed RPG series. The Dungeon mechanic once again plays a vital role in this action RPG, as those who played the open beta will testify.

With the Diablo 4 Season 3 release date approaching, learn more about its challenges and Seneschal companion.

Resetting a dungeon essentially allows you to tackle all of the enemies again that lurked within the area again and again, which during our Diablo 4 playthrough, we found to be incredibly helpful if you’re looking to grind out more XP fast and reach the max level as quickly as possible. Season 3 has Vaults and Gauntlets that shake up the dungeon experience. This plays an important role in the Diablo 4 Season Journey.

Dungeons typically act as enemy strongholds so are dangerous but defeated enemies reward you with loads of experience, loot, and items to sell for gold. Before going in, we’d strongly recommend making sure your armor is up to the task. There are three types of dungeons:

  • Nightmare Dungeons
  • Normal Dungeons
  • Campaign Dungeons

You are not able to reset campaign dungeons in Diablo 4 and can only reset both normal and nightmare dungeons. Here’s how to do it.

How to reset dungeons in Diablo 4

To reset a dungeon in Diablo 4, you’re going to need to complete it. Once you’ve completed one, press M on PC to bring up your Diablo 4 world map (or the Touch button on PS5) and you’ll see a button that says ‘Reset Dungeons’. Click the reset dungeons button.

You’ll then be given a warning message that reads: “Are you sure you want to reset all dungeons, including Nightmare Dungeons? Campaign dungeons will not be affected.” If you go ahead and click ‘Accept’, all of the dungeons, bar those as part of the campaign will be reset.

You’re then able to go back into the dungeon and tackle all of the monsters there again. There is no limit to how many times you can reset normal dungeons or the nightmare versions, so you’re able to keep using this method to farm XP, loot and gold. A good method is to find a specific dungeon you like and focus on this one for a while before venturing to a new one.

Dungeons are a great way to earn XP and loot as you face off against monsters and the occasional boss. You can take them solo or host a party with friends via the social menu. Be it solo play or with friends, dungeons serve as a loot farm for legendary items with the chance of scoring a unique item. Diablo 4 Unique items are a big deal. You can leave dungeons via the dungeon entrance or by teleporting out. You can reset Nightmare Dungeons (unlocked by Nightmare Sigils) this way too for the best XP.

How to reset World Events in Diablo 4

Since launch, players have earned quite a lot of murmuring obols as well from events and world events inside the standard dungeons. Don’t walk past the world event location unless you’re stocked up on murmuring obols.

To reset World Events in Diablo 4, return to a nearby town or another peaceful area with a portal after completing the World Event. Any area that doesn’t allow you to use your combat skills in it will do. Once inside, head back to the World Event location. It will be available once more.

Just remember that it might be worth pursuing the seasonal questline instead if you want to level up the battle pass.
