Not long after you first enter the Champion’s Demise dungeon, you’ll come across a temporary wall made of blood that blocks access to the boss fight. To pull it down, you’ll need to track down and return three Stone Carvings to the Pedestals. The Stone Carvings are dotted around the dungeon and are easy enough to find. From the Pedestal, there are three paths jutting out. Down each one is a Stone Carving, represented on the map as a boxed upside-down white triangle. Unfortunately, you can’t do a loop and sweep up all three in one go. You’ll have to return each one to the Pedestal individually.
The real challenge are the enemies, which spawn in large groups that can quickly overwhelm you. They chiefly consist of khazra, spiders, and marauders. Play defensively and prioritise positioning that allows for a swift escape should things get too hairy. Luckily, the dungeon’s size and layout, which features lots of wide open spaces, mean you have lots of space to play with to kite and avoid getting ganged up on by monsters. Crowd control abilities do wonders to thin the numbers here so opt for those where you can. Down each path, there’s a Shrine as well that you can interact with to temporarily raise your combat skills, which should help carve a path through the demons.
Returning all three Stone Carvings to the Pedestal spawns two Cairn Defiler Slayer of Champions elites. After you’ve dealt with them, head to the blood wall, which is now down, and interact with the Healing Well to top up your potions. Enter the Eater of Stones dungeon boss arena to meet the Khazra Abomination.
Khazra Abomination is a fairly typical dungeon boss. The massive health bar poses the biggest challenge and chipping away at it takes time. As for attacks, you’ll want to stay clear of the yellow poisonous pools that the boss summons around the arena. Standing on them chews through your health. They linger for quite a while before disappearing so fight around them as best you can. Other than that, the main attacks are a melee swipe and a charged attack, but both are well-telegraphed and easily avoided.
Beyond that, deploy as many high-damage attacks as you can, especially those with damage-over-time. Remember to watch your health, pick up the healing potions that drop as you reduce the boss’ health bar, and you should have the Khazra Abomination beat in no time. As a reward for your efforts, you should get several rare items, possibly a legendary, a hefty chunk of XP and gold, and The Aspect of the Umbral, which, when imprinted on a piece of gear, restores one of your Primary Resources when you Crowd Control an enemy. The best part is that this Aspect works for any class in the game.
