Diablo 4 bosses: The player seeing the Varshan boss in Season 1.

26 main bosses in total, but there are a few caveats to this list. Varshan the Consumed and the Echo of Varshan are new bosses in Season of the Malignant. And while the latter returns in Season of Blood, there are four other Diablo 4 Season 2 endgame bosses to worry about. They even have improved odds of dropping unique items and uber uniques now.

For the first half of the game, you can tackle Acts 1-3 in any order you like, so you may encounter a number of these bosses in a different order. Also, the first fight against Elias, Fallen Horadrim, is technically four fights, with him becoming slightly tougher each time, but they come consecutively after one another. Defeat them to get some solid loot irrespective of which class you belong to: Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Barbarian, and Sorcerer.

Finally, the second time you face off against Genbar, Brol, Elias, Airidah, and Astaroth, is during the final mission, and all of them appear simultaneously. You have the assistance of Neyrelle, Lorath, and Donan, and each of them is slightly weaker than the first time you fought them, so it’s not quite as intimidating as it seems. Also, when you do reach the end and face off against Lilith as the final boss, it’s technically two stages of the same fight, but her name – and abilities – change.

Tips against bosses in Diablo 4 Season 2

You’ll find some of these bosses like the Blood Bishop in Diablo 4 Strongholds with multiple health bars. The Butcher is a particularly nasty one that can pop out from nowhere to end the hero and their misery. He isn’t even tied to the dungeon bosses you’ll encounter.

Trying to stagger or stun them is usually the best way to beat bosses and World Boss fights (Ashava, Avarice The Gold Cursed, and Wandering Death). But these crowd control effects can be used against you, especially freeze. These bosses are scattered across the main campaign and the game’s five regions: Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, Dry Steppes, Hawezar, and Kehjistan. Some of them are also exclusive to endgame activities like Diablo 4 Nightmare Dungeons. Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, can be found during a helltide. Lord Zir can be summoned with Exquisite Blood from World Bosses and legion events.

While the final Duriel fight is intense on World Tier 4, it offers the following items for all classes: Godslayer Crown, Flickerstep, Tibault’s Will, X’Fal’s Corroded Signet, Soulbrand, and Banished Lord’s Talisman. You also get access to uber unique items for all classes: Melted Heart of Selig, Andariel’s Visage, Harlequin Crest, and Ring of Starless Skies. This boss can be summoned with Malignant Body Parts from Grotesque Debtors or Whisper Caches from the Tree of Whispers.
