Need to find Living Steel in Diablo 4 and beat Grigoire? Season 2, the Season of Blood, has brought tons of new content into the game, including new bosses to fight in the endgame.

Grigoire The Galvanic Saint is just one of those endgame bosses that can be summoned. While you’ll want to have the best endgame build to take the new boss on, you’ll also need the new material Living Steel to do so. Where can you find Living Steel, and how do you use it once you’ve got it? We’re here to let you know.

Diablo 4 Living Steel location – How to get Living Steel

Living Steel can be found in the endgame in the Helltides. Specifically, these unique items can only be found as rewards in the new chest found in the Helltide, the Tortured Gift of Living Steel. These will spawn during Helltide events and can be opened using Aberrant Cinders. You’ll need 300 Aberrant Cinders to open one.

While the location of the steel chests will change, you can check the map while playing the event and look for a Tortured Gift of Infernal Steel or Baubles from the Pit. These will pop up when a player is near one of the chests, and it will make it much easier to find. Be careful when you open them, though, as an elite enemy will spawn that you’ll need to fight before the chest opens.

How to find Silent Chests in Diablo 4 – Living Steel Chest locations

There are a couple of possible locations that the Gift of Living Steel could appear at. In my experience, I’ve never been able to find more than one in a single Helltide, but you can always use the D4Armory to locate them beforehand, which helps significantly.

Each chest contains one Living Metal. You’ll need two Living Metal to summon Grigoire on World Tier Nightmare, and five to summon him on World Tier Torment. So, you need to open two chests on Nightmare or open five chests on Torment.

Where to find Hall of the Penitent – Grigoire Location

Now that you’ve got your Living Steel, make your way to the Hall of the Penitent lair in Dry Steppes. This is the location where you can summon Grigoire. Luckily, it will be highlighted on the in-game map no matter how far zoomed out you are once you have enough Living Steel.

How to summon Grigoire in Diablo 4

Once you’re in the hall, all you need to do is head to the Chamber of Penitence down a few hallways and use your Living Steel to summon Grigoire the Galvanic Saint at the Light-Touched Altar. This will spawn the boss and you’re able to take him on.

Be aware that if you’re taking on Grigoire so you can collect Shards of Agony, one of the materials needed to summon Duriel, he’ll only drop them on the Torment World Tier. You can still fight him on Nightmare World Tier but don’t expect this material to drop.

Fun Fact

How to beat Grigoire the Galvanic Saint in Diablo 4

Grigoire the Galvanic Saint can be fought on World Tier Nightmare or World Tier Torment. This boss is no small task, but he can be beaten. He specifically uses Lightning elemental tasks, so it’s best to stock up on Elixirs and socket Topaz to gear so you can build up your resistance.

I’ve found it most effective to keep your distance from this boss. His most common attack is to swing at you with his melee weapon, but this is easily avoided if you are far away from him. Make sure to stay behind him for this, as lightning orbs will appear and bounce around.

He’s also going to have chains of lightning that pop up in the arena. Look for the red mark on the floor that will appear before the lightning, and you can easily avoid these too. These will form a maze-like pattern that will change up what parts of the arena you can be in. This will keep you on your toes. Keep moving around.

Luckily, a lot of Grigoire’s attacks can be avoided entirely. I’ve found that as long as you keep an eye out for the warning signs, and keep your distance from him, he’ll go down.

Diablo 4 Grigoire Rewards

Along with the Legendary drops, this boss will drop, Grigoire has a unique loot table of Unique Items you can get. This includes the Demonbinder Mount Cosmetic which is exclusive to him. As said before, if you fight him on World Tier 4, you’ll also receive a Shard of Agony, which is used to fight the Echo of Duriel.
