Double XP Tokens have been around in Call of Duty for a while, and Black Ops 6 continues the tradition. Players are always excited to get their hands on these boosts since they make grinding out player and weapon levels much quicker. However, you need to get them to use them, so we’ll explain all the possible ways to get Double XP Tokens in BO6.

How to earn Double XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Though the tokens are scarce, there are a few ways you can get some. Unfortunately, these methods aren’t farmable for the most part, so make sure to use the ones you get appropriately. Here’s how you can get Double XP Tokens:

  • Prestige rewards
  • Battle Pass
  • Events
  • Promos
  • Store bundles
✓ Legacy tokens

Activision and Treyarch have reverted the decision that legacy Double XP Tokens would be unusable in Black Ops 6. Those are any XP tokens you’ve collected in previous versions like MW3. Now, if you have some of them in stock, you will be able to transfer and use them as well.

Prestige rewards

The most consistent way of getting Double XP Tokens is by levelling up your Prestige level. After you reach player level 55, you will get the option to Prestige. This resets your level to begin levelling anew, which in turn offers new sets of rewards. Though they are mostly cosmetic, at Prestige Tier 20 you will get Gobblegum Packs. Each of them includes a 1-hour Double XP Token. You can get one of these packs in each Prestige level, which are currently capped at 10. That means that with this method, you can accrue 10 1-hour Double XP Tokens.

Battle Pass

Though it’s not outwardly confirmed, in previous CoD games Battle Passes provided Double XP Tokens on several tiers This will very likely continue in Black Ops 6 when the first Battle Pass comes around along with Season 1. However, as before, you will have to spend CoD Points (and real-life money) to purchase the Battle Pass track.

Events

Similar to Battle Passes, we expect that Black Ops 6 will continue to run seasonal events, like the ones we saw in Modern Warfare 3. These events offered cosmetic rewards like blueprints and camos, as well as Double XP Tokens. To get them, you’ll have to reach certain XP milestones to unlock the prizes. There are no events running in the game’s preseason, but we can infer that will change once Season 1 starts.

Promos

Certain promotional events can net you Double XP Tokens. These promos are often in collaboration with another brand, each of which has their own way of claiming the rewards. Currently, promos with Little Caesars and Monster Energy can get you Double XP Tokens if you participate. Keep in mind that these events are often time-based, so make sure to claim any rewards before they expire.

Store bundles

Lastly, you can get Double XP Tokens by purchasing specific Store Bundles for real-life money. These bundles include cosmetics, such as skins, camos, calling cards, and more, as well as a number of Double XP Tokens. The Store currently has only one such bundle, called Endowment Endeavor Tracer Pack, which provides one 1-hour Double XP Token and one 1-hour Double Weapon XP Token. As always, we can expect more bundles to appear as the game’s life cycle progresses.

How to use Double XP Tokens

You can activate your Double XP Tokens through a game lobby, both in Multiplayer and in Zombies. Click on the XP button found in the lower-right corner of the screen. This will open a panel that shows all your available Tokens. Click on the ones you want to use, and this will apply their bonus. However, bear in mind that their duration is measured in real-time. That means that sitting in menus will count down the tokens nonetheless. Our advice is to try not to waste precious double XP time and only use your hard-earned Double XP Tokens when you know you can press on and grind throughout their duration.
