- Use the weapon with the DR-6 Handstop underbarrel, 9mm High Grain Rounds, 50-round mag, Sakin ZX rear grip, and Mk.23 Reflector sight.
- Our build focuses on recoil control and improving damage.
Submachine guns are an essential part of any player’s arsenal, and the AMR9 brings the category’s flexibility and high fire rate in tow. You unlock the weapon at level 55 but it’s worth the grind. Now that Season 4 is live, use our best loadout for the AMR9 to strike fear into foes as you work through its camo challenges.
Our AMR9 loadout with the best attachments
- Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
- Ammunition: 9mm High Grain Rounds
- Magazine: 50 Round Mag
- Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
- Optic: Slate Reflector
For our attachments on the submachine gun, we’re going to start with the 9mm High Grain Rounds to ensure maximum damage range and bullet velocity. Next, we’ll definitely want a 50-round magazine. This gun shreds ammunition and fires really fast. With the increased player health, having more rounds at your disposal is absolutely necessary. As a gun primarily focused on run-and-gun tactics, speed is the name of the game here. Consider a suppressor only if you prefer moving around the map undetected.
The DR-6 Handstop enhances mobility and handling while the Sakin ZX Grip helps with recoil control. This ensures that the SMG remains accurate against close and mid-range targets. Recoil control is an essential part of any AMR9’s loadout stats. As for the optic, the MK. 23 Reflector Optic is better than the bog-standard one. If you prefer another optic, feel free to swap this one out.
Best AMR9 gear and equipment
- Vest: Infantry
- Gloves: Quick Grip
- Boots: Lightweight Boots
- Gear: EOD Padding
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Battle Rage
- Field Upgrades: Munitions Box
For our class setup, we’re going to use the Infantry Vest, solely because mobility is key to any AMR9 SMG player looking to move across terrain. That being said, we’re definitely going to want Quick Grips for faster weapon swapping, and EOD Padding for a bit of resilience against grenades. Sneaky Call of Duty players can consider boots like the Covert Sneakers or Lightweight Boots for mobility.
For our equipment, the standard choices of Semtex, Battle Rage, and Munitions Box are definitely the way to go. Battle Rage lets you spike your adrenaline to enhance your abilities in combat. Faster health regeneration is a great perk for someone who will be on the front lines. The Munitions Box will keep your gun fed and happy as you mow through enemy forces.
All AMR9 camo challenges
Racking up kills lets you work towards some exotic camos in Modern Warfare 3. This is true for the AMR9 as well. Here are all the AMR9 multiplayer camo challenges:
- Dart: Get 50 kills with the AMR9 at level 2.
- Amaranth Sands: Get 25 hip-fire kills with the AMR9.
- Microscopic: Get 10 kills while crouching or sliding with the AMR9.
- Rainfall Glitch: Get 15 kills on operators affected by your tactical skill with the AMR9.
- Gilded: After completing all base camo challenges, get 10 kills without the enemy harming you with the AMR9.
- Forged: After 6 Gilded camo challenges with SMGs, get 10 kills after Aiming Down Sights with the AMR9.
- Priceless: After 36 Forged camo challenges, get 10 kills outside the enemy’s line of sight with the AMR9.
- Interstellar: Finish 36 Priceless camo challenges.
Is the AMR9 worth using in multiplayer?
The AMR9 is a solid pick as an SMG. Since some challenges specifically require you to use an SMG, you’re bound to try one of these weapons eventually. The only real downside to the AMR9 is its recoil. Understand how the gun works and you should be able to dispatch threats without a second thought. Since the AMR9 is an SMG, you’re probably going to want to pair this with an assault rifle like the MCW that handles longer-range fights if you have the Overkill perk. Else you’ll have to stick to a handgun like the reliable Renetti sidearm.
