To obtain the Covert Sneakers in MW3, set it as an “Active Challenge” in the Armory Unlock Challenges and then complete three daily challenges. It eliminates the sound of footsteps. Note that this mechanic only unlocks at level 25. If you prefer staying undetected as you weave through the game’s maps, this is an important perk to have.
The Armory Unlock Challenges system is new in Modern Warfare 3. It lets you decide what perks and equipment you want to work towards. But remember to pick the Covert Sneakers as your “Active Challenge.” Skip this step and your completed challenges won’t help you towards getting this perk. The Covert Sneakers eliminate the sound of your footsteps in MW3. This lets you walk around without alerting enemies to your presence. Note that sprinting will make you a target once more though. More than snipers who sit at one position, this will favour players who use suppressed weapons and slowly move through the map.
