Are there difficulty settings in Tears of the Kingdom?
Tears of the Kingdom does not have difficulty settings. Like it’s predecessor Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom instead gets progressively more difficult the further into the game. This is a process called difficulty scaling.
However, it is worth mention that after the initial release, Breath of the Wild received a DLC pack including a Master Mode. If downloaded, this made enemies harder to defeat and introduced new quests and opponents. The Master Trials DLC was released four months after the initial game and effectively introduced a harder more to the game.
As Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to Breath of the Wild, and even has the same map (albeit with many changes) it seems likely that, while there are many differences, there will also be many holdovers.
