Wuthering Waves is another fantastic gacha games experience following in the footsteps of Genshin Impact. There are a lot of similarities between WuWa and Genshin, but Kuro have created enough of a unique identity, and they have quickly gained a huge fanbase. Looking ahead to the future, Kuro has confirmed some massively exciting new banner characters for Wuthering Waves update 1.3.
There is a lot to anticipate for the future of WuWa. Although revenue earnings were down for July 2024, they should be up for August seeing as the release date for update 1.2 is imminent. Not only that, but the game is coming to PS5 soon, and fans are looking forward to the new 1.2 playable heroes, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao.
While Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao are both enticing propositions, it’s the 1.3 banner characters that has Wuthering Waves fans ready to splash the cash to pull.
The two new Wuthering Waves update 1.3 banner characters are Youhu and The Shorekeeper. These were announced on the game’s official Twitter account.
Starting with Youhu, she is a 4-stars character. She’s described as a “natural expert in identifying antiques,” and “is a capable speaker with distinctive tastes”. Kuro also says, “When dealing with treasures and antiques, this jubilant dynamo settles into calm perception, tracing their distant past through their wrinkles and textures”.
As for the Shorekeeper, she is a 5-stars character. She is a “mysterious divine being governing the essence of aloofness,” and she “emerges in response to your summon”. She has spent “eons in guardianship,” and her story involves her “fostering a firm determination to connect with the world — and with you”.
There’s no confirmed release date for either of these characters. However, update 1.3 is expected to launch on September 26th. It’s possible Youhu could come out in phase 1 as she was revealed first, and The Shorekeeper could come out in October for phase 2 as she was posted second.
While fans are excited for Youhu, it’s The Shorekeeper who has captured the hearts of fans. One of the replies in the Twitter thread simply screams, “Just take my money,” meanwhile, on Reddit, there are a bunch of comments echoing the sentiment, “She looks so beautiful”.
Unfortunately, previous leaks suggested we might be getting Camellya in 1.3. Sadly, this no longer looks to be the case.
