The gacha video games market is absolutely huge. There are a lot of popular games, and many of them stem from Hoyoverse. However, there is also the rising popularity of the fairly new Wuthering Waves from Kuro. The July 2024 revenue figures for gacha games has been revealed, and they show decreased earnings for Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact, and Honkai Star Rail.
There is a lot to look forward to this month for fans of gacha games. There is the imminent release date of Wuthering Waves update 1.2, and there is also the upcoming release of Genshin Impact 5.0. While all three of Hoyoverse’s games are on PC, mobile, and PlayStation, the same will soon be true of WuWa as it is officially coming to PS5.
Hoyoverse are the kings of the gacha games market, and the July 2024 revenue figures further prove their place at the very top. However, Kuro are doing very well for themselves, and the amount of money being made is remarkable despite noticeable dips last month.
Gacha games July 2024 revenue
As posted on the gacha gaming subreddit, the Sensor Tower Monthly Revenue Report for July 2024 has been shared. This shows the monthly revenue earnings for over a dozen gacha games.
Keep in mind that the figures are for mobile only so they don’t take into consideration PC or console. We will also only be focusing on Hoyoverse as well as Wuthering Waves.
To start off with, Zenless Zone Zero is at the top of the pile as it made $96,000,000. There is no comparison to June as it only came out on July 4th.
As for Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, they both saw fairly substantial declines. In June, Genshin Impact earned $67,500,000 worldwide, meanwhile, in July it earned $36,300,000. As for Honkai Star Rail, in June it earned $95,5000,000, and in July it couped $35,000,000.
Lastly, for Wuthering Waves, in June it earned $46,300,000 worldwide, and in July it earned $29,500,000. You can check out the full earnings and for all included gacha games in the embedded Reddit post below:
Zenless Zone Zero had an incredible debuting month, and it will be interesting to see if their is a dip in August. Meanwhile, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Wuthering Waves all saw declines in revenue, but their monthly earnings were still more than solid.
Genshin Impact should see an increase this month with the release of update 5.0 at the tail-end of August, meanwhile, Wuthering Waves should, theoretically, see an increase with the release of update 1.2.
