Wuthering Waves is another fantastic game in the gacha genre with comparisons inevitably made between it and the brilliant Genshin Impact. Similar to Genshin, Kuro Games’ WW is set to release new characters as part of banners. The two new playable heroes for update 1.2 have been confirmed, and leaks for Wuthering Waves show the “beautiful” animations for Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao.
We have the expected release date for Zhezhi as part of update 1.2. She will be accompanied by Xiangli Yao, which has gotten fans excited. Of course, there will be even more characters in the future. One character is so anticipated that a fan is selling their blood to save up, and fans are excited to see how the story unfolds despite the much-criticised “stilted and unnatural dialogue“.
Update 1.2 isn’t too far away, and leaks have revealed first gameplay looks at the upcoming Wuthering Waves banner characters: Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao.
Wuthering Waves Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao animations leak
On the Wuthering Waves Leaks subreddit, the animations and attacks for Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao have both been revealed.
Starting with Zhezhi, one of the clips shows her walking animation along with her idle and ultimate. The response in the replies on Reddit are super positive with fans exclaiming, “She’s so pretty” and “That little hop she does when she plunges down is cute”. Fans are also in awe of how unique and interesting every single animation is for all of the characters in the game.
In addition to the above, there is a leak showing off her Forte Resonance skill. Fans have praised it as “beautiful,” while also praising the work from Kuro Games. There is a bit of exhaustion with “most characters starting to fly nowadays,” but most of the impressions are positive.
Now, onto Xiangli Yao, footage of his animations have been shown, too. A gameplay clip shows his running animation along with his attacks. One fan commented, “I love how geometric his animations are,” and there is also praise for his ultimate and facial expressions.
Finally, the last leak shows off Xiangli Yao’s Forte Skill. One fan commented, “He was already a 10/10 before that Forte… but I definitely need him as one of my main dps for the rest of eternity”.
Again, both Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao are set to debut as playable characters in Wuthering Waves update 1.2. Zhezhi is expected to be the first banner arriving in August, which would Xiangli Yao will arrive as the second banner in September.
