There hasn’t been a new AAA adventure from Lara Croft since Shadow back in 2018. However, Tomb Raider fans haven’t been starving for content as there’s been several crossovers, the Netflix series, and excellent remasters including the recent release of 4-6. TR12 is in-development, and hype for the new Tomb Raider game has resurfaced following leaks of Lara Croft’s return.
Leak reveals return of Lara Croft
A leak has revealed the return of Lara Croft. Per ShiinaBR, everyone’s favorite tomb raiding lass is coming back to Fortnite very soon, which is fantastic news as she’s one of the battle royale’s most popular crossover skins of all time.
In addition, it’s revealed that she will be accompanied by a brand-new Jeep, and it’s also claimed that Tomb Raider items will be appearing in Rocket League.
The actual skin hasn’t leaked as of writing, but the presumption is that it could be Lara Croft’s unified outfit seen in most of her other crossovers such as Magic The Gathering and Call of Duty. Crystal Dynamics’ unified outfit is also the only look we have gotten so far at TR12.
New Tomb Raider game in-development
A new Tomb Raider AAA video game is currently in-development. What we know so far is that it is being helmed by Crystal Dynamics once again using Unreal Engine 5, and this time it will be published by Amazon Games.
In addition, we know Tomb Raider 12 is a unified timeline. The survivor trilogy is the origin canon, but events of all other TR games have happened, just with some details omitted and altered to fit the survivor trilogy as Lara Croft’s birth. We also know that Camilla Ludington is not reprising her role as England’s leading lady.
The only glimpse we have gotten of TR12 is a concept image of unified Lara shared by Crystal Dynamics. Although it’s only an image, it’s a fantastic preview as it confirms the return of dual pistols, plus gear resembling Lara’s iconic tank top and shorts from the PS1 classics.

We’re hoping Tomb Raider 12 finally gets revealed in 2025. It’s been in-development for several years, but Crystal Dynamics and Amazon have remained very hush-hush about the project. Aside from the excellent Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, we haven’t had many globe-trotting adventures in pursuit of treasure lately, so we’re all eagerly anticipating Lara’s next expedition.
