Arguably the best aspect of The First Descendant is Nexon’s commitment to updates. The developer has made it known they are always listening to the community, and this has helped them implement much-needed quality-of-life improvements. We don’t know when the next TFD will patch will arrive, but we are sorely hoping the next The First Descendant update fixes an issue hurting “98%” of players.
The First Descendant community has a lot to look forward to in the near future. Not only is there a massive multiplayer mode update on the way for Invasion Dungeons, but soon Nexon are implementing test servers that players will be able to sign up for to provide feedback directly to the developer. In addition, if you have the luxury of affording Sony’s ludicrous price, you will be able to enjoy a PS5 Pro upgrade for TFD promising better visuals and smoother gameplay.
Test servers along with multiplayer for Invasion Dungeons are both exciting updates we are eagerly anticipating. While these will be huge additions to The First Descendant, we also want Nexon to quickly fix a bug that has been affecting large numbers of players for quite some time.
The First Descendant update needs to fix jam bug
We don’t know when the next update will arrive for The First Descendant, but hopefully it isn’t too far away as Nexon has been fairly consistent and active with patches since the game’s launch in July. Following the controversial start to Season 1, Nexon quickly released a 1.1.0b hotfix, followed by a more substantial 1.1.1 patch delivering huge nerfs to Invasion Dungeons.
While we don’t know when the next update will arrive, we do want it to fix an annoying issue we have been experiencing for quite awhile. In our time playing TFD, we have repeatedly encountered an issue where guns have randomly jammed while shooting. This has mostly happened to us while playing as fan-favorite, Bunny.
It’s not only us who have experienced this bizarre bug as it has been ranted about by the community. On the game’s official subreddit, OP fqkn-Auto_correct shared a post with a screenshot of a Facebook message asking the community if anyone else is suffering from the “jam” bug. The Facebook post has 129 responses, and the Reddit OP has pointed out “98%” of players are having this issue.
Most of the Reddit replies agree that they are suffering the bug, too. A lot of the comments say it’s an issue occurring on both console and PC, whether you are using keyboard and mouse or controller. Most of the comments also agree that it is happening to them while playing as Bunny.
The exact cause of the bug is unknown, but it’s believed to be related to Bunny’s Speed of Light skill. This theory suggests “when the skill is enabled and/or disabled by MP running out, for some reason the gun stops registering the input for weapon firing”.
Regardless of what the actual cause is, hopefully it’s something that is fixed by Nexon soon. With it prominently happening for Bunny, it makes sense a lot of players are encountering the bug as she is overwhelmingly the most popular playable character.
