The Finals has received another weekly update from Embark. Right off the bat it’s important to highlight that the patch notes are non-existent as this week’s update is basically just a rotation to the store. However, despite not delivering any balance changes, fixes, or tweaks, The Finals update 2.9.0 patch notes blog post does bring good news with the message that Terminal Attack is staying.
While this week’s update is bare, there has been the release of the first The Finals Season 3 teaser with Embark hinting at lots of new stuff. We know that a new map will be delivered, Embark has confirmed there will be the introduction of a new comms feature, and there is also the possibility that we may get a new rank.
The potential of Season 3 should have fans excited, but right now we still have a few weeks remaining of Season 2. Fortunately, Terminal Attack is no longer leaving at the end of this week as initially planned by Embark.
The Finals update 2.9.0 patch notes
Below is the message from Embark posted on The Finals update 2.9.0 patch notes blog post:
“Alongside this week’s store update, we want to congratulate the community on completing the Community Event by achieving 7 MILLION eliminations in Terminal Attack in just one week! If you contributed to the event, be on the lookout for your brand-new community-themed canvas shoes. Nice work, yolks!
“In the past few weeks, we’ve been watching you play Terminal Attack! We are so grateful for your feedback and impressions, and we’ve had a blast watching you attack and defend! Input from the community has been incredibly valuable to us as we work to make this mode a significant and permanent part of THE FINALS. While the event has now ended, and the contracts have expired, we still see so many of you having fun in TA, so we’ve decided to keep it in the game a while longer. “
Although the lack of traditional patch notes is disappointing, it’s good news to hear that Terminal Attack is staying. In the community-themed challenge to get cute canvas shoes, it was noted that Terminal Attack would be gone this week.
Fortunately, as confirmed by Embark, it is now staying “in the game a while longer”. There’s no mention of how long it will stay around, but it’s good to hear that Embark is planning to make Terminal Attack “significant and permanent”.
The same message about TA staying was relayed on Discord. If you participated in the recent community event, make sure to keep an eye on your inventory as that’s where the cute pink canvas shoes should appear.
