The Finals receives regular weekly updates and a lot of the time they are mostly focused on balance changes bringing nerfs and buffs to equipment and weapons. However, sometimes they introduce new features and gameplay toggles. One such feature The Finals should introduce in the future is an optional toggle that Fortnite fans absolutely love.

It’s a big week for The Finals fans. Embark has just revealed the brand new Attack and Defend mode for the game, and patch 2.6.0 will bring two huge incoming nerfs that have massively divided fans online. Both of these huge updates should be delivered on May 1st.

While patch 2.6.0 is exciting, there’s always ideas fans have for the game’s future. A lot of the time fans share really good ideas that Embark do listen to, and an optional toggle for visual effects on cosmetics is another idea that Embark should consider adding.

The Finals should add visual effects toggle for cosmetics

On The Finals subreddit, user ENDRAER has shared the idea that Embark should add a ‘toggle to disable/enable visual effects on costumes‘. In addition to turning on/off visual effects on cosmetics, the user adds that the developer should also introduce the option to turn hoods on/off.

In regard to visual effects specifically, Fortnite fans were over the moon when Epic Games added the ability to remove cel shading from some anime skins. In addition to this, fans have the option of turning effects in the video settings to low to remove black outlines for other anime/cartoon skins.

Now for The Finals specifically, the OP is arguing that there should be an option to toggle visual effects on/off for cosmetics such as the Emulator Puffer jacket from the Season 2 Battle Pass. In the replies, many users unanimously agree with the OP.

In addition to the Emulator Puffer Jacket, the top reply uses the example of wanting to remove ‘The black and white effect on the cowboy clothes’. Aside from Fortnite, this reply says Embark could ‘Could do what Warframe does with ephemeras, unlock the effect at the end of a battlepass or whatever, can use it on whatever set of clothing you want’.

The Warframe idea is clever, but most comments just agree with simply wanting the option to turn effects off. One reply says the ‘final hoodie from the BP is fire, just not with the glitchy effects’. Another comment says ‘I love the shirt and pants form the western event, but the old film effect is ruining it’.

Aside from just looking ugly, another fans says ‘I love the black cowboy outfit but the effects are giving me a headache’. This is something to take into consideration as effects can be troubling to look at for some people and is a greater reason to include an optional on/off toggle than just for fashion.

Embark has regularly listened to fans and implemented changes/updates based on player feedback. It would be great if the option to turn visual effects on/off for cosmetics was added, but so far there has been no hint from the developer.
