The Finals Season 5 is coming to an end very soon. Embark has revealed some big changes for S6 in a huge eSports announcement, and we have seemingly gotten a look at some new weapons and map. While Embark should be confirming more details about the imminent chapter leading up to its launch, right now we’re hoping The Finals Season 6 will bring back the game’s best mode that was just removed.
The Finals Season 6 should bring back Team Deathmatch
As part of The Finals update 5.12.0 patch notes, Embark removed Team Deathmatch. We always knew its removal was inbound as the mode was simply an LTM rather than anything permanent.
While its departure was inevitable, fans are sad to see TDM removed. Reacting to its removal on Reddit, fans are sad because some considered it the best and most enjoyable mode in the game, and it was “A fun game mode that was easy to complete all of the dailies in quickly”.
Fans are hopeful the mode will be brought back. Players are confident that it will return in Season 6, but nothing has been announced by Embark. Presumably confidence in its return stems from its popularity, plus a past instance where Terminal Attack was an LTM towards the end of Season 2, and was brought back as a permanent addition at the beginning of Season 3.
If the mode does come back, fans believe it might happen at the expense of another mode. The obvious mode players would like to see removed for Team Deathmatch is Terminal Attack. This is because Terminal Attack has been frequently complained about, and Embark has said they are not delivering new maps for the mode.
As of writing, the return of Team Deathmatch for Season 6 is pure speculation and hopeful thinking. There is the chance it could happen similar to Terminal Attack, but, for right now, the mode is gone with no return date in sight.
