The Finals fans have less than a week to unlock free weapon skin

The Finals fans have had a frustrating couple of weeks thanks to updates coming out later than usual, and Xbox players had to deal with an especially frustrating delay. Fortunately, this debacle is now over with, and hopefully normal services will resume next week. Update 3.5.0 has only just recently come out, and it has given The Finals fans less than a week to unlock a free weapon skin.

You can check out the patch notes for update 3.5.0. It includes a couple of fixes, but most importantly it has brought Xbox players back up to date with rest of the community by bringing update 3.4.0 to Microsoft consoles. Embark had apologized for the lengthy delay on Xbox consoles, but players blamed Microsoft for the approval process which has caused other multiplayer games issues in the past such as ARK.

Fortunately, PlayStation, PC, and now Xbox are all aligned and sharing the same up-to-date experience. And, if The Finals community wants to a unlock a new free weapon skin, players will have to work together to complete the latest community event.

How to unlock new free The Finals weapon skin

The Finals players have until July 23rd to complete the first community event of Season 3. The reward for completing this community event is DISSUN Capacitator skin for the Dual Blades weapon.

In order to unlock this skin and complete the community event, players must total 1,900,000 eliminations/kills using the new weapons and gadgets introduced in Season 3. Below is the list of weapons you must record eliminations with:

• Recurve bow
• Winch claw
• Dual Blades
• Thermal Bore

You can check the progress in-game or by visiting the online leaderboard. As of writing on July 19th, players have achieved 717,525 kills, completing 38% of the total required.

If you contribute to the tally, you will find the DISSUN Capacitator Dual Blades weapon skin in your locker once the event has finished on July 23rd. Sometimes there is delay with receiving rewards, so it may take a couple of days to appear in your locker.
