The Finals Season 3 has begun and there is a lot to appreciate with the new chapter. We have moved to Japan, and the new map is a fantastic playground for all players to enjoy with an assortment of new weapons and gadgets. While the new map and fresh weapons are great, many in The Finals community are not happy with the big change to Ranked in Season 3.

There is a battle pass with 96 rewards, and 26 of these rewards are free if you’d rather not buy the battle pass. In our hands-on preview, we praised the new map and weapons for adding a fresh feeling to the game.

While everyone is in love with the move to Japan, many fans are not happy that Cashout has been replaced in Ranked by Terminal Attack.

The Finals fans are not happy with Terminal Attack in Ranked

Before the beginning of The Finals Season 3, Embark explained why Cashout has been removed from Ranked. In addition, they also explained that Terminal Attack has been added to Ranked to create a “more tactical and competitive experience“.

Unfortunately, the switch has not gone down well with fans. Cashout is still part of The Finals in World Tour, but fans wish it was still part of Ranked instead of Terminal Attack.

On Reddit, there are several threads complaining about the switch, such as “Yes, new Ranked sucks,” and “Don’t care it’s been said already, Terminal Attack ranked is so unbelievably boring“. There’s also a Reddit thread accusing Nexon of being responsible for the controversial decision.

In the Reddit posts, there are complaints such as, “This gamemode literally contradicts the trailer for the game, fast paced destruction and people doing crazy movements… In terminal attack it’s none of that, you just have people sitting in corners”.

One of the comments says, “The general consensus seems to be that everyone wanted it to stay, nobody wanted it in ranked. And I’d be inclined to agree. It was a good game mode, but Cashout is the blood of this game”.

With the onus on Terminal Attack, fans feel that The Finals is trying to become a “CS:GO/Valorant/R6 Siege clone”. There’s an agreement that “Having the ability to play the mode [Terminal Attack] is cool, [but] making that mode the game is not. Bring back Cashout as the main mode, keep Terminal Attack in Quickplay”.

It’s clear that fans want Cashout to return to Ranked, and, fortunately, it seems possible that will happen in the future. As mentioned by Embark, Cashout has been removed to give the developer a “chance to work on Cashout and make vital improvements to the mode that would have been difficult to do when it’s locked into ranked for a whole season”. Embark has also stated they want to make “Cashout more viable as a competitive mode in the future”.
