Street Fighter 6 has breathed new life back into the franchise, following many players being turned off by Street Fighter 5, especially at launch. Following its release in June, the series is back in full swing alongside Tekken 8 and Mortal Kombat 1, fighting game players are eating good in 2024.
During Summer Games Fest, four new characters were announced for Street Fighter 6 Year 2 including Fatal Fury and King of Fighters characters. The Shadaloo Dictator M. Bison, Fatal Fury’s Terry, King of Fighters’ Mai, and Elena from Street Fighter 3 will be coming to Street Fighter 6 in Year 2. This comes following the release of Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma in Year 1, with Akuma coming to the game last month.
This is great news for fans of Street Fighter 6, as many have been hoping to see both Fatal Fury and King of Fighters come to modern fighting games and get new eyeballs of the franchises. It had also been theorized that Terry could have been coming to Tekken 8 but that doesn’t look to be the case now.
There is no release date for any of the upcoming Year 2 characters, but so far they have been releasing every two to three months so we can expect to see the first character around July or August. It hasn’t been confirmed which character will be the first, but based on the artwork it is likely that M. Bison will be joining the game.
