Nintendo has announced paint shooting sequel Splatoon 3 will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on September 9.
The news comes along with a new gameplay trailer, showcasing four minutes of Turf War footage. The fan favourite mode makes a comeback for the three-quel, with two teams of four going against each other. Their aim is to paint as much of the battlefield in their colour as possible, while the other team does the same.
Expect to battle across a range of brand new stages, in locations like Scorch Gorge. There’s new moves for players to master, and new weapons including the Tri-Stringer, which is shaped like a bow. There’s also a bunch of new special weapons to look out for, such as the scuttling Crab Tank. You can check out some of this new stuff in the footage for yourself below.
Splatoon 3 was first unveiled last February during a Nintendo Direct broadcast. The latest iteration in the shooter series will also include a new single player story campaign and a co-operative Salmon Run mode. You can check out some footage from the latter right over here, if it takes your fancy.
Check out the new Turf War gameplay below. Splatoon 3 lands exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022.
