The highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake continues to excite fans of Capcom’s horror franchise ahead of its release.

One aspect that has now been revealed, albeit unofficially, is its preload size, which is particularly important as it gives players an idea of the game’s length and the content that it brings. With this in mind, we’ll be providing what the exact preload size is below as well as any other relevant information that can help you in preparation for its arrival.

How big is the Resident Evil 4 Remake preload?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake preload size will approximately be around 67.18GB – at least on the Xbox Series X|S, that is. A generous user recently revealed via Resetera that this would be the amount of space the game would take up on Microsoft consoles. The post also had an accompanying image that backed up their claims, making the revelation even more legitimate.

RE4 Remake’s preload size is significantly larger than that of Resident Evil Village’s since the popular installment had previously only required 30.66GB. Other entries in the series were also much smaller in terms of their file sizes, with the Resident Evil 2 Remake only at 23.07GB, while the Resident Evil 3 Remake was at 28.75GB.

It’s worth noting, though, that RE4 has always been one of the lengthier titles in the franchise as its main story typically takes around 15+ hours to complete. Other games, however, can usually be completed in 10 hours or less. Taking its story into account, the preload size provided begins to make more sense seeing as how it’s also set to introduce more content as well, such as “The Mercenaries” DLC.
