So how much hard drive storage space will you need for the Resident Evil 4 Remake? Let’s answer that question for you now right here so you’re well prepared for Leon and Ashley’s comeback story.

How big is the Resident Evil 4 Remake preload?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake preload size will approximately be around 67.18GB – at least on the Xbox Series X|S, that is. A generous user recently revealed via Resetera that this would be the amount of space the game would take up on Microsoft consoles. The post also had an accompanying image that backed up their claims, making the revelation even more legitimate.

It looks as though it’s around the same size on PC and PlayStation, although we’ve yet to have confirmation from those platforms. We’ll be sure to update once we have a verifiable answer.

RE4 Remake’s preload size is significantly larger than that of Resident Evil Village’s since the popular installment had previously only required 30.66GB. Other entries in the series were also much smaller in terms of their file sizes, with the Resident Evil 2 Remake only at 23.07GB, while the Resident Evil 3 Remake was at 28.75GB.

It’s worth noting, though, that RE4 has always been one of the lengthier titles in the franchise as its main story typically takes around 15+ hours to complete. Other games, however, can usually be completed in 10 hours or less. Taking its story into account, the preload size provided begins to make more sense seeing as how it’s also set to introduce more content as well, such as “The Mercenaries” DLC.
