If you’ve spent any time exploring the immediate area in Palworld, you will quickly stumble upon the game’s first boss: Mammorest. Located just south of the initial spawn point, Mammorest is level 38 and is a tough beast that requires you to play and get good before even attempting to fight unless you’re one Palworld player who tossed a ball at it with as low of a catch probability as can be.

Palworld player shockingly catches Mammorest on first try

Mammorest is the game’s first boss, and it’s not an easy one to defeat. In general, it’s pretty difficult to catch Pals that are higher level than you are, and this boss is level 38. You’re going to have to grind for a while before you go fight it and try to catch it.

However, this Palworld player shrugged off conventional thinking and just decided to hurl a Pal Sphere at it. It gave him a 0.1% chance of catching it. For reference, a level 1 Chikipi with its back to me had about a 30% catch chance. These odds were long. Improbably, that 0.1% quickly grew to 3% and then 100% and gave this player perhaps the luckiest catch in the entire game.

u/SourDuck21 put it into context, since the original player found a pretty uncommon form of Gumoss as well, “Not only did you get a FLOWER Gumoss, but also a 0.1% to 3% chance of catching that Mammorest… bruh.” u/AndreasHauler said, “I am so lost man whenever I try that s**t they just bounce off.”

Another user echoed that sentiment, “Ohh that’s b******t!! I can have a 70% chance to catch and the Cheeky Bastards still break out. I’ve never seen a chance that low succeed.” One comment added that they’ve had a 98% catch chance break out, so the odds were not in their favor.

Several players also noted that they were surprised the original player even bothered. Others were quick to point out that as long as there’s a tiny chance, it could happen. Therefore, as u/Kiyan1159 put it, “Never stop throwing.”

The post garnered nearly 10 thousand upvotes and tons of amazed comments in less than one day at the time of writing. That’s all for this insane Palworld player feat, but be sure to check out a potential deal for Xbox and PocketPair, the unreal amount of time players have played this game, and what the Palworld CEO said recently.
