The PlayStation 5 is an amazing console with a bevy of fantastic games. One of the best aspects of the machine is the super-fast loading and graphical prowess, but it also has the DualSense controller that offers the unique support of haptic feedback. Although not confirmed by Sony as of yet, a new PS5 DualSense V2 controller has been listed online by a retailer with a price and significant improvement.

PS5 fans have another great year ahead of them. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered release date is approaching, and the upcoming games 2024 schedule includes another three PlayStation console exclusives for Q1 2024 alone. There’s Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in February, and then there’s Rise of Ronin planned for March.

All of us will be able to enjoy an onslaught of fantastic games throughout the next 12 months and you may be able to do it with a new DualSense V2 controller in your hands.

New PS5 DualSense V2 controller price and improvements

Canadian retailer Best Buy has listed a PS5 DualSense V2 controller online. This was spotted on Twitter by NextGenPlayer. It is not available to buy and there’s no mention of when it will be, but the listed price is $89.99.

Below are the features of the controller listed by Best Buy:

  • Compatible with the PlayStation 5
  •  Wireless connectivity ensures you will never get tangled up in wires while gaming
  •  Iconic comfortable design fits naturally in your hands
  •  Haptic feedback replaces the traditional rumble motors for more realistic gameplay
  •  Dynamic adaptive triggers let you experience different levels of force and tension as you interact with your game
  •  Built-in microphone lets you engage with fellow gamers in online play
  •  Headset jack lets you plug in your favorite headset, so you can tune in to your game audio easily
  •  Dual Sense charging station (included) offers easy click-in charging
  •  Exceptional 12-hour battery life, on a full charge, supports long gaming sessions

There seems to be nothing massively different compared to the regular DualSense controller other than the final, bullet point. A DualSense controller battery life typically lasts a maximum of six hours after being fully charged, so a 12-hour battery life would be double.

Sony hasn’t announced a version 2 controller so nothing is official as of writing. In other PlayStation related news, Sony has been busy lately with CES 2024 where they have provided an update on two major PS5 exclusives being adapted for TV series following the success of The Last of Us.
