PlayStation has taken over the world of video games and now Sony is looking to do the same with their video game properties in the world of television. The Last of Us has been a huge hit on the small screen, and Sony has now provided a fresh update on the upcoming God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn TV series. They are two of the biggest games on PS5 console and fans are naturally excited to see how their television series turn out.

It’s a very exciting time for the PlayStation community. The Last of Us television series has just won eight Emmy awards, and Ellie is returning once again very soon with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. And, in regard to video game TV series, they are becoming increasingly common as an Amazon Fallout TV series is on the way and it will explain the origin of the iconic vault boy mascot.

While we cannot wait to see the Fallout TV series later this year, beyond 2024 we have Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War from the world of PS5 to anticipate.

Sony shares update on God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn TV series

Sony has provided a small update on two of their upcoming PS5 TV series. During the CES 2024 presentation, Sony Pictures Television Studios president, Katherine Pope, confirmed that writing has begun for the God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn television programmes.

God of War is set for Amazon Prime Video while Horizon Zero Dawn will happen on Netflix. Katherine Pope said that Sony seeks “out stories that entertain and inspire a diverse range of audiences” and that Sony is “excited to build on our legacy of providing creators the resources they need to produce what they need to produce: outstanding content”.

Seeing as both television series are only in the writing process, don’t expect any news such as casting for Kratos and Aloy anytime soon. Meanwhile, for the The Last of Us Season 2 pegged for 2025, the rumored casting for Abby is Kaitlyn Dever.

In other PlayStation news, rumors suggest a major Xbox exclusive could be coming to PS5 consoles early 2024. You also have limited time remaining to win a new PS5 console by just answering five questions.
