If you want to get an early look at all the maps and weapons set to be included with the MW3 multiplayer mode, you finally can because multiplayer is now somehow playable through the game’s offline local mode. Keep in mind, though, that since you can only access it by turning off your internet connection, you won’t be able to frag out against other players for now. However, this will at least give you a headstart over others by letting you study all of the map layouts and weapon spray patterns.

Unfortunately, if you haven’t installed MW3 onto your preferred gaming platform yet ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, you may have to remain patient until you can actually play multiplayer, let alone start up the game. As has often been the case with most CoD installments, the MW3 file size is relatively hefty, clocking in at a chonky 135GB on Xbox, according to a post from CharlieIntel. The PS5 and PC version’s file sizes will likely be similar or thereabouts, meaning you’re in for a lengthy wait.

In addition, before you jump into the MW3 multiplayer mode, we suggest keeping the footage you get under wraps for now, as Activision is striking down any content that gets shared. Any screenshots and in-game footage you post on social media or wherever else will quietly get removed by the CoD team, so try not to get too trigger-happy with your console’s share button.

Aside from that, you should be able to enjoy the MW3 multiplayer content that’s set to be available at launch. This includes all of the MW3 maps, the MW3 weapons list, and the MW3 operators list being introduced on opening day. Of course, if you don’t want to play it right now and you want to wait until launch, take a look at our guides on the best MCW 6.8 loadout in MW3 and the best AMR9 loadout in MW3 instead.
