MW3 Maps List – All current multiplayer maps

Modern Warfare 3 has 16 regular maps and 4 large-scale maps, making 20 in total. All returning maps are reworked from the ground up from their original MW2 (2009) variants. Players can expect 12 more maps across seasonal updates. While most of them retain their layouts, some of them have extra routes that players can take advantage of. If those maps sound familiar, that’s because they’re all the original maps from Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. However, they’ve been spruced up and given a modern makeover to help boost MW3’s MP map pool – something that was rumored by leakers and later confirmed thanks to an MW3 reveal ARG. Fans were directed to a phone number in the run-up to the MW3 reveal event and were encouraged to message this number to get teases on what’s coming in the new game.

Remember that all these maps have been remade with modern MW mechanics in mind. This means that fast mantling and other tricks will let you outwit players who use the maps just like before.

Here are some MW3 maps that will be playable in a dedicated playlist:

Fans will get to relive the glory in beloved maps like Estate, Highrise, Favela, Terminal, and, of course, Rust. If you were hoping for entirely new maps where you can rain hell down on enemies, fret not, as Modern Warfare 3 will also include some brand-new maps with a twist. You’ll also get to choose what maps you play on, as Activision has confirmed map voting is returning in MW3.

Modern Warfare 3 launched with three brand-new Battle Maps – these are large-scale locations used in the game’s Ground War and Invasion game modes, both of which are returning in the new game. These are the Battle maps currently in MW3:

It’s unlikely that Verdansk will return in MW3 and Warzone on launch. But parts of Verdanks can be accessed in the game’s campaign mode. Alongside this, the new Warzone map elements will be featured with the upcoming MW3 Zombies that launched alongside MW3.
