Activision has now seemingly confirmed the Modern Warfare 3 cover art through a cryptic message they recently posted through the official Call of Duty Twitter account.

In it, the publisher simply said: “Whew. Mondays. Anyone have an energy drink they can spare?,” which may subtly be referring to the fact that a leaked image containing the Modern Warfare 3 cover art had been circulating through the social media website as part of a Monster Energy collaboration. Although the graphic in question hasn’t actually been confirmed by Activision or developer Sledgehammer Games yet, the visual seems largely convincing as it includes Captain Price standing stoically in front of a partially covered face, which many are speculating to be the infamous CoD antagonist Vladimir Makarov.

Now, official Call of Duty tweet and convincing image aside, you’ll still need to take these pieces of information with a gentle helping of salt since the alleged cover art may still end up changing ahead of the game’s release date. Fortunately, Activision has already announced that a Call of Duty 2023 reveal event is currently set to arrive with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5 so you won’t have to wait too long for more details.

In the meantime, we suggest checking out other crucial pieces of information surrounding the release of Call of Duty 2023, such as Activision confirming Modern Warfare 2 content will carry over to Call of Duty 2023 and the upcoming installment reportedly including a Zombie Outbreak 2.0 mode.
