The official Call of Duty Twitter account has announced it’ll unveil the first details of this year’s entry in the series along with the MW2 and Warzone Season 5 reveal in a few weeks time.

Of course, the account didn’t give a year or any further details of this year’s entry just yet, but added to last night’s tease that MW2 Operators, Weapons and Bundles will carry over into the new game. The tweet read as follows: “Look for the first details about the [REDACTED] Reveal Event in the Season 5 announcement and additional MWII carry forward details soon. Stay Frosty.”

It’s currently thought that this year’s entry will be Modern Warfare 3, following a number of leaks over the past month including reported names for a playtest that were swiftly removed by copyright strikes mentioning the title Modern Warfare 3 by name. While unconfirmed, it was also believed earlier in the year that CoD 2023 started off life as an expansion to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 before it was spun out into a full game.

Presumably, we’ll find out more very soon, both about the new game and when the Call of Duty 2023 reveal event takes place. The current Season 4 Reloaded is set to end in just two weeks, so we’d expect information about Season 5 to arrive before then.

Until then, Modern Warfare players are currently frustrated about the recent The Boys crossover thanks to the omission of Butcher.
