The Illuminate are the continuous looming threat in Helldivers 2. Players have anxiously been waiting for them to invade for quite awhile, and we did get to tango with them very briefly at the end of 2024. However, we all knew said brief encounter was never going to be the end of the Illuminate as they are for sure hellbent on coming back. Leaks have revealed a massive battle is coming to Super Earth, and this Super Earth invasion is now seemingly imminent as SpaceTime Fluctuations skyrocket in Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 Super Earth invasion is closer
Iron_S1ghts is a prominent leaker for Helldivers 2. Recently, they leaked a new, and better, stratagem to rival the already available Jump Pack, and they also recently unearthed an armor customisation system.
However, most importantly, they leaked a battleground for Super Earth. Back in December, Iron_S1ghts leaked the Super Earth map with different regions. More recently, the dataminer leaked that “Super Earth now supports urban environments,” and the leaker also disclosed that Super Earth has its own “unique biome”.
Now, following the increase in SpaceTime Fluctuations noticed by gamers in Helldivers 2, Iron_S1ghts has reminded fans about the Stargate Nexus leak. According to the dataminer, the “Stargate Nexus is a device used by the Illuminate to warp across multiple planets [and] It allows them to cover a lot of territory very fast”.
In addition, the “Stargate Nexus is tied to the Illuminate Capital Planet in some way,” and the speculation is that “It is either stored on the planet, or the planet is the stargate nexus”. It’s important to note that the Stargate Nexus term was discovered in “very early game versions,” so said specific naming could be scrapped.
Lastly, the dataminer also found “Disintegration Beam” in the game files while “searching for the Stargate Nexus strings”.
Stargate Nexus is presumably how the Illuminate will come back and fully invade Super Earth. It’s also possible their imminent invasion is related to the recent increase in SpaceTime Fluctations. There’s still no ETA on when the Illuminate will come back and invade Super Earth, but it’s theoretically possible it could coincide with the game’s upcoming one year anniversary set for February 8th.
