Helldivers 2 players say the chaos is what makes the game fun

I have often likened Helldivers 2 to Dark Souls with weapons, and I have yet to hear a more accurate description. If you want a game that is non-stop action as you frantically fight for survival with hundreds of enemies trying to take you out for 40 minutes, Helldivers 2 may be the game for you. It requires a lot of strategy to survive the endless hordes and this has led to it becoming one of the most popular games of modern times.

U/savethejonahs took to Reddit to praise Arrowhead Game Studios and Helldivers 2 for the chaotic nature of the game saying,

“It’s the random insanity. Often that can feel “unfair” or frustrating, but that’s what makes the game almost infinitely playable. Let’s not inadvertently push Arrowhead into making a more normal, strategic game. It’ll be boring. We’re SUPPOSED to die a bunch and sometimes feel the urge to straight suicide objectives for the good of the team. The game is forgiving. Nothing is actually lost to the bullshit nonsense whatever it is.”

The frantic gameplay isn’t for everyone, but Helldivers 2 does have nine difficulty levels to choose from so players can tailor the experience more to their liking. But for those on higher difficulties, it is non-stop actual fighting large enemies that can take you out in an instant, but that is part of the fun.

Many other players agreed, with U/thr0bbinwilliams saying “Every mission is stuffed full of those classic 80s action movie moments. Big enemies big explosions big set pieces and big finishes. So awesome.”

U/SweetMirror3992 praised the randomness of the game and that every mission is unpredictable saying,

“The randomness is what makes this game amazing. There is always that doubt if that spear shot will take down that Charger or Titan. Having a 1 shot, 1 kill guaranteed 100% kill would make this extremely boring and would make meta builds run wild.”
