After spending April focused almost entirely on the Automatons, it is now time to give the Terminids some attention again in Helldivers 2. After setting up the Terminid Control System back in March to keep the reproduction rate at bay, they have began to become resistant to the Termicide and becoming stronger than ever, as well as reproducing at rates never seen before. This means that the Helldivers need to go and eradicate as many as possible while switching off the Terminid Control System before it’s too late.
While playing on harder difficulties you will encounter some incredibly difficult enemies, including the feared Bile Titan. It is hard enough to not become overwhelmed by the amount of Terminids that are attacking you, nevermind taking on these strong enemies, so strategy is key.
U/WhiteRaven_M took to Reddit to share a tip go easily defeat the Bile Titan. When it comes to Terminid enemies, the Bile Titan is perhaps the most feared. It is much larger than most other enemies and has the capabilities to take you out with a single hit. It is so powerful, there is even an achievement/trophy attached to defeating one for the first time.
In the Reddit post, they explain how to defeat the Terminid saying “Bile titans have a predictable spit behavior. When their spit is not on cooldown, they ALWAYS spit at whatever viable target is within 20M of them.”
Now we know how the mechanics of the Bile Titan works, here is how to defeat it, they continue with the strategy saying,
“As soon as you see a Bile Titan crawl out of a breach, you know its spit is ready. Ping the Bile Titan: if its around 25-30m away. Throw a 500KG/OPS vaguely on the ground in front of you. Look at the distance indicated by the red beam: walk forwards/backwards so that the beam is 22M away from you. Then stand still and wait.The bile titan will walk towards you. When it is exactly 20M away, it will stop in place and do its long ass goofy wind up animation. This holds it in place for your 500kg/OPS. You may move after the animation started.”
The 500KG Bomb is one of the best Stratagems in Helldivers 2 and is permanently in my loadout whether I’m fighting the Automaton or Terminids. It’s ability to take out a large area, including Fabricators and Bug Holes make it a great item to use. Another great option for taking out larger enemies, as well as groups, is the Orbital Laser, I never drop into a mission without both of these equipped.
The 500KG Bomb may be great to take out the Bile Titan, but you can’t use it to take out every enemy you come across, you’ll still need to use your trusty guns too.
