Helldivers 2 fans are in for a treat with the arrival of Liberty Day. It’s an annual Super Earth holiday, and it could be huge for the HD2 community judging by leaks. While the holiday arrives in a couple of days, Arrowhead has started Helldivers 2 Liberty Day celebrations early by instructing players to watch a “mandatory briefing”.

The release date for Liberty Day is October 26th. As for what is arriving, leaks suggest we will be getting OG armor from HD1. In addition, leaks have revealed more details about the clan system, and Arrowhead has confirmed a PS5 Pro update is set to arrive in November.

There is a lot to anticipate for the future of Helldivers 2, but the most exciting aspect right around the corner is the celebration of Liberty Day. It’s the biggest celebration on Super Earth, and Arrowhead has instructed to players to watch a video before the event begins.

Helldivers 2 Liberty Day starts with “mandatory briefing”

On the official Helldivers X account, Arrowhead has shared a “mandatory briefing” that all Helldivers 2 players need to watch before Liberty Day begins on Saturday.

The full video is two-minutes long and it explains the lore behind the yearly holiday. Per narrative lead Nils Hannson Bjerke, “In the distant past humanity was in a state of utter chaos. Misinformation, disinformation, people just voting left and right, but then Humanity discovered a way to let people be truly free”.

This means of freedom was discovered through the arrival of a declaration known as “managed democracy” presented by the Democractic Council on October 26th.

Arrowhead explains that the “point of Liberty Day is to celebrate what it truly means to be free” and, as with all holidays, “there are some repeating traditions”. These traditions include Class B Citizens getting an hour off work so they can watch the liberty parades, and “Storman Media always does a 24-hour livestream from the wall of martyrs”.

Other traditions include parents watching “children snatch presents from liberty pyres,” and people just snuggling up with a drink of liber-tea.
