Warner Bros. has announced that Bastion, the quaint action RPG that kicked off Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade on XBLA, will be arriving on PC on August 16.
The game will launch for £14.99 on Steam (currently available for pre-order) before arriving on other PC portals later in the month. The Steam version will be available DRM-free, and include Steamworks support for Cloud saves, achievements, and leaderboards.
Developer Supergiant Games has also announced that players can now download the official soundtrack to Bastion, which features an hour of original music from the game, including two never-before-heard bonus tracks, all fully remastered.
Bastion follows the journey of ‘The Kid’ as he tries to rebuild a world destroyed by the ‘Calamity’. In addition to hand-drawn visuals and a host of role-playing features, the game takes advantage of dynamic narration, with a narrator reacting to how you play the game.
It went down well with critics when it arrived on XBLA a few weeks back. In my Bastion review, I said it captured “that certain something that Limbo and Braid had in previous years” and that it offered an “experience just as memorable as any retail release this year”
