Helldivers 2 fans have a lot to anticipate for the future. Arrowhead is already teasing buffs for the next patch, and we’re still awaiting the arrival of the Illuminate. While the debut of the Illuminate is long-anticipated, the latest Major Order makes it seem as though Helldivers 2 is close to getting another massive new feature fans have wanted since day one.
For the next upcoming patch, we know we are getting buffs for the jump pack and purifier, and we might be getting a higher difficulty setting judging by the developer’s recent comments. In addition to teasing a higher difficulty mode, Arrowhead has just revealed a “stealth nerf” that was added in update 01.001.100 unbeknownst to the community.
While buffs and balance changes are exciting, many players are also eagerly anticipating new content. Looking at the most recent Major Order, it seems we are on the way to getting a massive space station hub for the entire community to meet and interact.
Helldivers 2 could be adding Democracy Space Station hub
As shared on the Helldivers official subreddit, there is a new Major Order asking players to “liberate Clasa or Gaelivare to secure a construction site for the Democracy Space Station”.
In addition to the above, Arrowhead has shared on the game’s official X account that, “after intense research, construction of the Democracy Space Station is ready to begin”. Before it can be constructed, players must choose to either liberate Clasa or Gaelivare, and, “During construction, the DSS will be extremely vulnerable to attack, so long-term defensibility is paramount”.
Once players have chosen a construction site, it appears there will be Major Orders dedicated to defending the DSS while it is in the process of being built. We know very little about the DSS as of writing, but it appears as though it could be a new social hub for the community in-game, maybe similar to Warframe.
In addition, fans on Reddit are speculating that it will be the gateway to clans. A clan system has been leaked in the past, and players are convinced that this space station will be a place for clans to meet up and organize.
This is not official as of writing so all we can do right now is liberate one of the two possible construction sites. Judging by the responses, the community is mostly choosing to liberate Gaelivare.
