Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond is almost here. In addition to new armor and guns, players can expect capes, utility boosters, and other customization options. The items that caught my attention were the electric gizmos that should offer up some new gameplay opportunities against Terminid and Automaton forces.

When is the Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond release date
Cutting Edge is the next premium Warbond reward pass that’s coming to Helldivers 2 on March 14, 2024. Use Medals to unlock new items in-game with this Warbond. While you’ll need Super Credits to unlock it, you can earn this currency from playing matches. Here’s how you can unlock premium Warbonds in the game. And don’t worry about existing Warbonds expiring. They will be available even once the new one drops.
Here’s what you can expect from the Cutting Edge Warbond:
- 3 armor sets based on the EX Series Prototypes
- 4 new weapons and a new grenade
- 3 new capes like the Botslayer and matching player cards
- 3 new emotes
When is the expected Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond start time
Helldivers 2 was released at 9 AM GMT and most patches were released at around this time. So we expect the new Warbond to drop at 9 AM GMT / 2 AM PDT / 5 AM EDT / 10 AM CET / 6 PM JST. These lethal items will come in handy against both Terminid and Automaton threats at higher difficulty levels.
How much will the Cutting Edge Warbond cost in Helldivers 2
Just like the previous Steeled Veterans Warbond, Cutting Edge will cost $9.99 or 1000 Super Credits. The free Helldivers Mobilize reward pass will remain even after the new Warbond drops. Note that you don’t have to spend real-world money and can find this rare resource by playing regular matches.
Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond armor and weapons
Cutting Edge arrives with three armor sets, with one light, medium, and heavy armor variant. Expect the EX-03 Prototype 3 to be able to either unleash electric attacks or dispel ones from weapons like the Arc Thrower. Arrowhead gives players a warning that the EX-16 Prototype 16‘s “electric arc generates a strong magnetic field.” And the EX-00 Prototype X is expected to be the heavy armor option. A G-23 Stun Grenade joins these new items. And here are all the weapons in Cutting Edge.
LAS-16 Sickle
While this laser rifle has infinite ammo, it needs to be cooled down after use. Fail to do so and you’ll need to replace the heat sink via an ammo pack. Using it in short bursts will let you make the most of it.
SG-8P Punisher Plasma
Plasma rounds deal massive damage but they can hurt allies too. So be careful while using this modified Punisher shotgun. Considering that the previous patch buffed the basic Punisher shotgun, expect this one to pack a punch.
ARC-12 Blitzer
This weapon can project an arc of close-range lightning. You can also charge it up to fire multiple powerful bolts against targets. The new armor sets may help with minimizing friendly fire.
LAS-7 Dagger Pistol
This laser pistol doesn’t require ammo either but just like the Sickle rifle, it’ll need a new heatsink if you use it without cooling down. It’s a great alternative to the regular pistol.
That covers all the guns and armor coming with the Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond update. For more on the co-op shooter, check out our best Helldivers 2 stratagems and best armor guides. Expect these lists to get shaken up once the new items drop into the game.
