If you play Fortnite, you know how often Epic Games changes the loot pool. The development team brings balance changes nearly every week, and on top of that, weapons get constantly vaulted and unvaulting. Due to this, it’s no surprise that we expect even more changes by the end of Chapter 5 Season 2.

Unfortunately, not all Fortnite weapons are equally good. In fact, players recently agreed that one weapon is in desperate need of a buff.

Fortnite players want Epic Games to buff this weapon

Epic Games recently unvaulted the Tactical Assault Rifle. This weapon was first added to Fortnite in Season 9 and has been a fan-favorite. Unfortunately, the new variant of the weapon isn’t quite as good as the old one. Reddit user Old-Assistance-5354 pointed this out, claiming that the weapon isn’t strong enough. The post has gained a lot of traction, with many players agreeing that Epic should do something about it.

“The Warforged AR completely outclasses it. It should either do more damage or have a higher fire rate,” Educational_Book_225 suggested. The Warforged AR is another weapon with a fast fire rate, which makes the Tactical Assault Rifle somewhat odd. VortexTalon even believes that a gray Pistol is better than the Legendary variant of the recently unvaulted weapon.

“I just carry water bending,” Notlliana posted, claiming that guns are unnecessary in the current meta. Considering how strong this Mythic ability is, it’s no surprise that so many players use it. However, it will leave the game once the new Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration comes out.

Pereson2211 believes that the Tactical AR should only get a smaller buff. “Maybe +1 or 2,” the Reddit user said, pointing out how the weapon has less recoil than the Warforged AR. Some other users, however, think that this wouldn’t be enough. According to Riley6445, the Common (Gray) version of the Fortnite weapon should deal at least 23 damage, which would be a significant buff.

With the v29.40 Fortnite update around the corner, we might see some weapon buffs and nerfs. However, considering that Chapter 5 Season 3 starts in only four weeks, Epic may not make any drastic changes.
