Fortnite has dominated the gaming industry for more than seven years. The video game has received hundreds of updates during this period, and that is a big reason for its popularity. Due to this, we expect Epic Games to keep developing it, making it better for all players. Adding new Fortnite servers is a surefire way to improve the game, and that is exactly what the developer is doing.

Earlier this year, there were reports of Fortnite testing new servers. Fortunately, Epic has made some progress with this, as a new data center was just enabled.

New Fortnite servers are now live

On Monday, Epic Games enabled a new data center in Mexico. This is a sub-region of the NA-Central server and will improve the gameplay experience for millions of players. Before this, players from Central and South America were able to pick between the servers in Brazil and the United States. However, that is no longer the case.

According to Hypex, the new servers are located in Querétaro, a state located north of Mexico City. However, it’s important to note that this data center is not listed separately in the game. To connect to it, players will need to set their region to NA-Central. Once the matchmaking starts, the game will automatically pick the most optimal server in this region.

An earlier report indicated that Epic was planning to introduce seven new servers for the game, including one in Mexico. Currently, the Fortnite developer is testing six additional servers in locations such as Indonesia and South Africa. Some of these servers may go live with the launch of the new season on Friday, February 21.

As Epic expands its server network and improves the experience for countless Fortnite players across the globe, the game’s future looks even more promising.
