Fortnite servers will soon be much better! Epic Games is reportedly testing servers at three new locations, which will drastically improve user experience. This improvement will affect millions of active players, both casual and competitive. On top of this, we expect the Fortnite developer to adjust the prize pool for competitive gameplay.
With Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 1 ending on February 21, we expect many changes. One of them could be the addition of these new servers, which would make the game better for numerous players.
Where will new Fortnite servers be located?
At the moment, Fortnite has servers in eight different regions. North American players can pick between East, Central, and West servers, while there are also data centers in Europe, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East. Unfortunately, the most popular battle royale game still doesn’t have a server in Africa, which is why players from this continent either connect to Europe or the Middle East.
According to the latest report, Epic is currently testing servers in five new regions. When added, these servers will improve the game for many players across the globe. These are the new server locations and their current status:
City | Country | Status |
---|---|---|
Capetown | South Africa | Testing |
Mexico City | Mexico | Added |
Jakarta | Indonesia | Testing |
Tel Aviv | Israel | Testing |
The Dalles | USA | Testing |
Seattle | USA | Testing |
North Charleston | USA | Testing |
At the moment, there are no Fortnite servers in Southeast Asia, which results in an increased ping for players from this region. Players from Mexico mostly connect to NA-West servers, while those from South Africa are forced to play on Middle Eastern servers. All of these players will see a drastic decrease in latency once the new servers go live.
Right now, it’s hard to tell when exactly these servers will be enabled. However, Epic has a great opportunity to add them with the launch of a new season on February 21.
