Collaborations are a big part of Fortnite. Thanks to them, Epic Games has been able to build a popular metaverse within its game and will continue to work on it. With the release of Chapter 5, Fortnite got a massive LEGO collaboration, but that just seems the tip of the iceberg. Earlier this year, Epic announced a Fortnite x Disney collaboration, which will be massive.
Not only will the collaboration affect Fortnite, but the rest of Epic as well. Disney is investing $1.5 billion into the videogame publisher, and the first phase of the collab has already begun.
The upcoming Fortnite x Disney collaboration will take years to fully develop
Epic Games and Disney have collaborated a few times in the past. As a result, several Fortnite x Star Wars collabs have come out over the past few years. This partnership has been generally favored by the Fortnite community, which is why it’s no surprise that the two companies will keep working together. However, the current cooperation will take a few years to fully develop.
According to Shiina, one of the most reputable Fortnite leakers, the collaboration with Disney has already begun. The leaker claims that a couple of playtesting versions just appeared, indicating progress with the partnership. Unfortunately, this is a long-term project which will take years to fully develop.
There is no doubt that the collaboration has a lot of potential for amazing Fortnite x Disney skins. Furthermore, the two companies will likely work on a couple of Fortnite Creative maps, and maybe even some mini-games in the Battle Royale mode. There is also a possibility of a Disney-themed Battle Pass in the future!
Disney has already teased some of the upcoming content, and it certainly sounds exciting!
On top of this, the company stated that the relationship with Epic Games will bring Disney’s brands and characters to Fortnite in “transformational new games.”
While this all sounds exciting, especially for Disney fans, we may have to wait for 2025 to see the first results of the collab. The leaked Fortnite roadmap doesn’t show any information regarding Disney, which makes sense considering how massive this cooperation is going to be.
