Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 is nearly here and its highly anticipated arrival could mark the return of a fan-favorite character. Though numerous personalities had already been introduced throughout the course of the ever-popular battle royale’s life span, none have arguably been as noteworthy or impactful as the sinister antagonist, Midas.
Introduced by Epic Games as part of Chapter 2 Season 2, Midas was included in the game as both an NPC boss and as a Tier 100 battle pass reward. Dubbed by developers as The Golden Ghost, this James Bond-like villain quickly became a popular figure within the Fortnite community because of his debonaire appearance and tragic backstory.
So with Epic Games now having launched the latest trailer ahead of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 release date, some fans are hoping that the next story arc brings back the fallen king after it was revealed that the next season would have a heist theme. Several posts have already been created by diehard fans on social media asking for his reappearance as one Twitter user said: “Midas has always been my favorite character. I would be so happy to see him return.”
One Redditor, on the other hand, appeared doubtful of the villain’s return as they asked the community: “Do you think Midas will return this time for real? Or [will it just be] another disappointment?” Most Fortnite players commenting under the thread shared the post creator’s skepticism as one responder noted: “I doubt it, the heist theme isn’t the same as secret agents,” while another said: “I [would] really like Midas to come back, but I don’t think so.”
