Wondering when the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 release date will be? Now that Season 3 Wilds is beginning to wind down, it’s time to look towards the next chapter in the battle royale phenomenon.

Here we’ll cover our best Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 release date prediction. If you’re not quite ready to discuss the next season though, make sure you dive into everything Season 3 has on offer, from learning how to ride raptors in Fortnite, to all Fortnite weapons in the Wilds season.

Fortnite Season 4 release date prediction

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 was released on Friday, August 25 for all platforms. The next update’s official launch was confirmed through a tweet from the official Fortnite Status account. Most Fortnite seasons average between 10-12 weeks, and Chapter 4 Season 3 is came to an end on August 25. Much like past updates, the next season will come out the day after the end of the battle pass, resulting in a brief downtime in-game.

Fortnite Season 4 map changes

Current community leaks and sneak peaks seem to suggest that there will be more map changes arriving in Season 4. The current season brought the new jungle biome to the game, and it looks as though the biome change trends are set to continue with the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Melting ice in the jungle on the Fortnite map and reappearances of assets like palm trees and cacti seem to suggest that we’ll be seeing the arrival of a new desert biome somewhere on the map in the next season. It’s not currently clear where exactly this might be, though.

There has also been rampant speculation that a volcano will be arriving next season. Although this was speculated to happen in a live event for Season 3, this hasn’t materialised. But teaser images and volcano-themed stickers and content in the battle pass do suggest it could be coming in Season 4 instead.

More recently, a number of Fortnite leakers such as FNChiefAko have suggested the new season will be themed around an ‘Eclipse’ and may include changes based around vampires, including a new Vampire-like boss. It’d certainly make sense, as when the new season arrives it’s likely to lead up to the game’s annual Fortnitemares event in October.

Fortnite Season 4 new content and gameplay

There’s been plenty of speculation about the new season bringing new weapons. So far, we haven’t heard anything on whether this might happen. We do know that a few old vaulted weapons will return next season, though. It’s also quite likely that we’ll get a few new Fortnite augments, just like we did this season.

As for gameplay changes, we’ve not seen any confirmation yet on expected alterations. It’s likely that we’ll at least see some rebalances and tweaks as we always do, aimed at properly fine-tuning the weaponry in-game.

Fortnite Season 4 story

We don’t yet know anything concrete about the story for Chapter 4 Season 4. However, it seems likely that things could be gearing up to escalate again. Early rumours have suggested that Season 4 might see the return of both aliens and the mysterious Foundation. This could be an end goal for the chapter rather than next season though. There have been a few complaints leveled against Season 3 for being too dry and light on content and narrative. We’ll have to hope that this will be rectified with the next season.

That’s everything we’ve got for you on our Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 release date predictions for now. As the current season creeps towards a conclusion and we start to learn more about what next season could hold, like more changes to the Fortnite map, we’ll make sure to keep you in the loop.
