Get a head start on the competition with the best monitor for Fortnite.
The next season of Fortnite is upon us, so now’s a great time to either get the game for the first time, or take your gameplay to the next level. For either of those, a good monitor makes a great deal of difference to your gaming experience.
There are several things you need to take into account during the research process. Refresh rates and response times are important for FPS, as well as your display size and resolution. Make sure your monitor’s native display resolution matches Fortnite’s, otherwise, the game will probably stutter and run terribly. While these factors won’t be the difference between winning and losing the battle royal, they will make the appearance of the game more pleasurable. Nothing beats the immersion of an ultrawide, 4K monitor for example.
Of course, the truly most important factor is price. Everyone ideally would just buy the monitor with the best specs in every department, but that is too often just too expensive. For that reason, we’ve selected monitors in a range of price categories.
Let’s jump into it.

The G-Sync hardware and 240Hz refresh rate is awesome for Fortnite
G-Sync is a premium feature, but totally worth it for a tear-free gaming experience.
Without a doubt, the best monitor for Fortnite is the Alienware AW2518H, which is the gold standard for gaming. It’s easily one of the best curved gaming monitors currently on the market, and will look great in your setup thanks to its customizable RGB lighting.
A fast refresh rate is so important because, not only does it allow you to see, and reacted to things faster, but it also creates a smoother gaming experience. A not often considered side effect of this is that you feel more engaged with the world of the game and thereby more reactive to it, and focused on it.
This immersion is only increased by the NVIDIA G-Sync technology, which serves to minimise both input lag and stutters in the display. The monitor itself is sturdy and comes with an adjustable height stand.

This monitor hits the sweet spot for casual gaming
The combination of 165Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync and versatile ports is ideal for light gaming and working.
The best budget monitor for Fortnite is easily the Samsung Odyssey G3. It boasts a snappy 1ms response time and a 165Hz response that, though not the maximum possible, is still more than acceptable for Fortnite.
We continue to be impressed that Samsung has managed to pack all this into a monitor that’s going for less than $300. The build is solid and it has a sleek and stylish 3-side borderless look which is pretty immersive. It also means you can seamlessly utilise a double monitor setup, eliminating a black bar half way through the display. For even more choices, we’ve rounded up the best thin bezel monitors. Overall, if you’re on a tighter budget its definitely worth considering this offering from Samsung as your best bet.

A firm favourite for dual monitor set-ups and next-gen console gaming
You don’t often find a double HDMI 2.1 port monitor for a price as good as this.
The LG UltraGear UHD Nano is a tremendously popular gaming monitor. It can actually be quite hard to find it in stock, though we have done the work for you in that regard.
What’s more, this popularity is not unearned. The screen has a premium 1ms IPS and 144Hz display. It one ups the Samsung screens on this list by achieving a full 4 sides of virtually borderless display. This will really let you you sink into the world of Artemis island.
It also comes with ten bit colour and a stunning image quality allowing you to use it for professional graphics creation, or editing, when you’re not battling it out in Fortnite.

Most pro Fortnite players use 240Hz monitors
This monitor delivers a great middle ground, hitting 1440p resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate. Just make sure you have a decent graphics card to really see the difference.
The best 240Hz gaming monitor for Fortnite is the Odyssey G7, the second Samsung screen on our list. It’s pricier, but you are rewarded for your investment with performance, so long as you have the best graphics card for Fortnite too. Again it comes with that 3-sided bezel-less design, though it ups it to a generous and immersing 32 inches.
And the high-end specs don’t end there with a resolution of 1440p and QLED display. It makes its way onto this part of our list for its zappy 240hz refresh rate, giving you the smoothest Fortnite gameplay realistically available. While 360Hz monitors do exist now, they are not very common, even in professional Fortnite circles. This is because the game is not often able to make use of speeds that high. This makes 240hz a better bet for a Fortnite monitor and amongst them the Odyssey G7 is one of the best.

Fortnite in 4K just hits different
Hitting 144Hz at 4K makes this monitor top tier for Fortnite lovers.
A big advantage the Nitro, and part of the reason it’s our pick for best 4K monitor for Fortnite, is its HDMI 2.1 port and compatibility. Which is vital for both 4K and the 144Hz the screen is capable of.
Another reason the Acer Nitro pips the other possible 4K monitors to the Fortnite post is the way its puts those extra pixels to use. The graphics on this monitor are beautiful and varied. There’s a beautiful HDR mode and dynamic controls on contrast and saturation.
The build itself allows for simple height adjustment and large 40 degrees of tilt. One weakness, is the built in speakers which, though good, do not reflect the image quality the Nitro is capable of. For the full in-depth report, check out our sister site’s review of the Acer Nitro XV282K.
Is a 144Hz monitor good for Fortnite?
144Hz is good for Fortnite, and allows you to be more immersed in a game than the more common 60Hz monitors. However, if your gaming setup has the capability to handle 240fps, a 240Hz monitor is superior.
Does 240Hz increase FPS?
A 240Hz is capable of increasing framerates, up to 240 frames per second. That said, it will only do this if your set up is capable of generating and handling 240fps.
Is a 27-inch display good for Fortnite?
Absolutely. Any display between 24-27 inches is great for Fortnite. Why? It gives you a large enough field of vision without having to rely on your peripheral view. Smaller monitors might distort the look of characters a bit too.
Is a curved monitor good for Fortnite?
Yes. Curved monitors work well for Fortnite, though we recommend a resolution of 1080p with a corresponding refresh rate for the best results. Notably, pro Fortnite players tend to avoid curved monitors, but this is only because Professional Fortnite tournaments don’t support curved monitors.
